He's had that car almost since the Z was reintroduced in 2002.

lol I can agree though - he should just go carbon fiber all the way around and accent it with red. I mean I could CF the @ss on my ZR and it would look very strange about the same as just a CF Front End. If it were just the hood and kit then okay but once you get those Fenders you may as well commit imo.

I don't care how rich he is, he needs to either make the entire car CF (doors and rear bumper should be easy) or paint it.

May be fast, but looks hideous IMO.

I like carbon fiber accents, but I don't like when the whole front end is carbon fiber... From 20 feet away it just looks like the whole front is black. It doesn't match... Maybe he could get away with it if the car was black, but I think he should just make the rest of the car carbon fiber... and get rid of that hideous wing too...

meh...In my opinion there is no reason to visually 'prove' to anyone that your car has carbon fiber body panels. I would personally buy carbon fiber parts for weight savings (improved power to weight ratio = improved acceleration), not for looks. I sure wouldn't be buying it for impact absorption. Install the carbon fiber full body kit, paint it to match the rest of the car, then race another Z with the stock body and we'll see who pulls on who. Just don't bump into anything.

This is a weird analogy, but my father is really into model railroading (HO scale) and once in a while he will treat himself to a brass engine, box car, caboose, etc. If you've ever been into a nice hobby shop you have probably seen the gold-colored brass railroad cars on display in the glass case. They typically go for $75 or higher depending on level of details, quality of the brass, etc. Some people buy them to show them off in a display case in the den. Other people, who are really into the authenticism of model railroading (nerdy...yes...but a hobby's a hobby) buy them because their weight to size ratio is much more realistic than a less expensive, standard plastic railroad car, then they actually run them in the model train. So anyway my dad buys these once in a while and the first thing he does is rough up the surface, prime it, and paint it to match the rest of the cars in the train.

The point is that he bought the brass caboose for function, not form. It would look pretty silly if he had a bright gold-colored caboose on the end of a train that is painted to resemble an aged and weathered version of the real thing. And although he paints it, he knows what's underneath and what it's worth to him. And upon close inspection, anyone else who is on that level within the hobby will know the difference.

Like I said, it's a weird analogy, but I think it applies.

-Steve

if I was banking like him, I'd still get a Z....it's a nice looking car that you can play with...I'd also own a C6 too...and of course my 911 GT2...but it doesn't matter how much you make, if you have money for toys then buy the toys you want...

He owns more than a few cars, like all those who are the Rich and Famous. The only celebrity I know that owns an everyday people car is Leonardo DiCaprio, he drives a Toyota Prius-electric car. Back in 2004, former ESPN radio sidekick Rob Dibble, talked about buying his 350Z on the Dan Patrick Show. He said he paid $35K TT&L for it, I remember he mentioned when he was playing for the Reds, he had a Porsche. As for Tyson's Z, that is too flashy for me.

A Z just like that one got his *ss handed to him by a n/a Z at this months sport compact car. Also a Fit beat it by three seconds per lap.

Looks wise it looks like a hyena with that black half front. I like the cooler in the intercooler and the sideskirts, but the front bumper cover is ugly. I prefer a perfect fit to one of those kits.

Same reason why many of us own a 350z.
Just because he's loaded doesn't mean he can't have a fun car. I've seen pics of him tracking that car, as well as another "fixed" up mustang.

He makes a small fraction of what Jay Leno makes, and Jay owns a 350z as well even though he can buy pretty much any car.
