Nissan mistreating NISMO
Several days ago I gave NISMO USA a phone call to see what they were up to these days.
When I asked them what parts were for the 350Z in the 2002 Nismo catalog the guy told me "Nothing, not even a single aftermarket part."
The truth is, Nissan hasn't even gotten Nismo a car yet! All of these mags have already test driven the car and Nismo doesn't even have anything to work on?!
He told me that it will be at least one year before they will be able to begin selling Z performance parts.
A bummer, I know.

Don't get too uptight there bud. First of all the car isn't even in production yet so having aftermarket performance parts available for it would pretty much be a waste of time. Nismo has said they will not begin selling parts in the US until spring of 2003 or something like that. Just be patient, Nismo is indeed coming.

Igor... you were misinformed I am thinking. Nismo is creating all parts in Japan for the Japanese market and release of the FairladyZ. In 2003 Nismo will (or at least should) have parts for sale in the US.
Assuming the G35 and Z series does what Nissan is expecting them to do in the showrooms in regards to sales, you'll see Nismo over here for sure. If those two do well, you'll also see a more powerful 350Z in 2004 and a GT-R as well in 2004-2005.
The Japanese supercar wars are gearing up again and by 2004 they should be underway.
I for one, can't wait.
Jessie can't want either... he's got his eyes on the GT-R, where as I have mine of the 350ZR. (GT-R would be sweeter I am sure, but I'm a Z man, through and through)
I have total confidence in Nissan. After all, they brought back the Z!

I don't know why everyone is jumping up and down about "NISMO" products like they are going to be the saving grace of the 350Z.
For the 90-96 300ZX, there are many parts suppliers out there, and Nismo certainly isn't that popular, doesn't make many products, and isn't known for much. In fact, the only NISMO part I can think off off the top of my head are their fuel injectors. But if you're building up a 300ZX, "Nismo" isn't the place to turn.

Why is everyone excited? Simple, with NISMO you keep your factory warranty, and their fit and finish on the parts will be as perfect or near perfect as you will get. Would you expect less from Nissan?
Also I hope what you say to become true JMANZ, as I have decided to put my Z car adventure on hold for 2 years or more. A 350ZR in my driveway would look mighty fine or a GT-R.

Why are people worrying about gettin aftermarket parts before we get the car. Even if Nismo does not offer parts un the US for the Z I am sure the other aftermarket companies will step up and make parts for us.

Hopefully, it will be in the 2003 catalog.
