Base =
No HID's
No LSD (limited slip differential) aka 2 wheels burning out!
No Cruise control
No TCS
No transreciever
I would spend 2 grand more and get enthusiast!

are your pedals aluminum? If they're just regular plastic/rubber pedals, then its a base.

if its a silver aluminum color, it is NOT a base.

if you have the TCS button, it is NOT a base.

Cruise control on steering wheel? Yes? then it is NOT a base.

Do you have a push button on the right side of the steering wheel next to the key hole? That pushbutton is to start the engine. If you have this, then you have an Enthusiast.

Ok, so i am pretty sure i got the base model. no TCS button and no cruise buttons. The window sticker said Enthusiast model.

I paid 22,100 for it with 9000 miles, with the remainder of the factory warranty on it. I looked at KBB and in excellent condition (which it is in) suggested retail is 24,400. It had tinted windows and a billet grill also, so I think I still got an ok deal. Not as good of one as I thought though.

I bought it used from a Nissan Dealer, so I may have to go have a talk with them. I figured they should know more about it huh?? I did do some research on it before I bought it, but not as in depth as I should have. I was in a hurry to buy a car and really liked it.

Oh well, still got a good car and i didn't way overpay. I know I could have found a used one from private seller for cheaper, but this car is imacculate and I was only home for a month, so couldn't go shopping all over the US.

Thanks for your help guys. Time to get to modding.

There is little point arguing with the seller about the model: Base vs Enthusiast. The car is sold as is, and you had time inspect the car before buying. I see no deception on the sellers part.

9,000 miles and the car is like new. Move on and enjoy the ride.

I agree here. Whatever the label (Base or Enthusiast), you knew when you bought the car that it did not have traction control, steering wheel mounted controls, etc., and you settled for a fair price for it. 9000 miles is a baby. It has the potential to be just as fast as any other Z, so hurry up and get modding!

Although I think you got a good deal, you could still sue the dealer in small claims court for the differece in value between the two models and most likely win. If it says enthusiest on the paperwork that you got, they don't have a leg to stand on in court. Your proof of value difference would be printed documents from the kelly blue book web site. Or you could tell the dealer you want to settle out of court for $4k. They probably will because it will cost them that much to pay a lawer.
Anyway, i still think you got a good car and a good deal, so whatever you decide to do, more power to you. I just hate car dealers; I hope you sue them.

Here's a really novel idea. Why don't you discuss this issue with the dealership that sold you the car?

I will discuss it with the dealer, but it is going to be hard to right now. I bought the car when i was on leave in March. I am bac in Germany unitil September, so thats still a few months away. I have the sales managers number, so i will be calling him. I doubt I will be able to do anything from here, but I will be giving it a shot.
Maybe I can get them to get me a nismo part or something since they falsley advertised it. I have the window sticker that says Enthusiast and all the options. I will call them and find out if anything happens.

this reminds me of when i sold my 00' honda civic DX(with no options, not even power locks) but i had a b18(acura gsr motor) swaped in it. my friend drove by a cheap dealer and saw it being sold as a civic si. i couldnt believe it, it was nothing close to an SI, didnt even have the same motor. dealerships were created to screw if they can.
