Default chrome silver

For all of you with chrome silver z's, is it ,in the sun, bright like the pictures on cardomain.com Or do you have to wax and clear the hell out of the paint
I hope your answer is yes its is that bright in the sun cause it looks badass

It is indeed that bright. I was favoring PPW until I actually saw a CS.
My boss has a silver Vette and is jealous as hell because the Z's silver is far superior to his silver/fiberglass!!!!

After a wash, it is very bright under the sun. At certain angles there are hints of a chromish type look, hence the chrome silver name. Im gonna take pics someday in the sun to see if i can reproduce a picture like Nissan's...

The pic above is not Chrome Silver. Its a special and VERY expensive paint Nissan used for the car show circuit last year. I saw it in person and its awesome. I can't remember the exact price of the paint job, but it was insane. Here is another pic I have from the time of the debut someone took to show the paint. I think the guy in the pic is a member here.

Yeah I noticed some of the early shows had that very Chrome look to it. But this press picture is close to what my chrome silver looks like after washing it in direct sunlight...

Im not sure if Nissan was using the same car for this picture and the one with the blue sky.

Yeah, and check out the burnt orange seats in that CS. Nissan taunted me, only to tell me I couldn't buy one like that. C'est la vie.

Actually you probably can given the right dealer stock. I have a CS with the black leather and a co-worker just bought a SS with black, but guess what...his SS came with orange and they swapped it out for him. So if you find a CS with black, and the dealer has another car with the orange, I'd bet that they'd do the reverse swap for you. The orange is beautiful, though the black is way easier to sell.

Wow, that's a cool dealer. My dealership, has an allotment of 1 Z every 2 months, so no chance of that happening as all the slots are full.

Sorry to hear supply isn't as high as it is here in the US Guess another option would be to heavily advertise through your dealer and here that you are looking to swap for orange. Though be sure you have the air bags or no air bag option mtched. Good luck!

Here's a couple of CS pics of my car. Meguiar's Carnuba wax only - two days after delivery. Note reflections of trees.

I was dead set on CS until I saw it in person. IMHO, it's really no better than other silver cars out there. Only if they could match the Munich or Titanium silvers found on BMW...

I wonder if they used different paint on the show Z with burnt orange leather. It looks very different than other CS. Perhaps it's the lighting.

What year is his vette? I know the pre '00 had the crappy silver but the new one's have slightly brighter look. Of course, he probably won't be so jealous after a good race with you.
