Default 03=good resale value

i visited our local Carmax store today checking out an 03 track model with 26k miles on the clock. To my surprise, the no haggle price is 26599. FYI the track models don't come with leather interior.

Value is very different from price.

But it comes with the Brembos.
The track model tends to keep it's value a lot better than the other models.

Wow.. I bought my 03 track almost 2 years ago with clean title but like 25k miles for $23,900. Have they gone up recently due to "the movie"? I talked to a guy that had recently bought and 06 basically like the week it was released and he said he had a hard time finding one.

The track is performance parts like brembo brakes and rays wheels. The touring is lether, power seats, seat heaters, and luxery accessories. I bought my 03 last year with 17K for $26. It came with navi, leather, sub.

The wheels on the track look bad ***. Down the street from work at a used dealership, they got a silverstone track and I had to stop and check it out. My 03 is also silverstone, and it is hard to find the right rims to accomodate the silverstone, very impressed with the track wheels.
I also noticed on some track Z, they have 19 in the back and 18 in the front??

When I first got my Z (almost 2 years ago) I test drove an 03 PPW enthu with the same options as the car I have now and 17k miles at car max. They wanted $26900 for it. I found an 04.5, same options, 7k miles (this was in 2004 btw) for the same price listed at a local dealership. I was able to get KBB(trade in value) for my trade and talked them down to $24900, went with my own financing, and didn't buy any dealer add ons and I still feel like I could have maybe saved an extra $500-$1000...

cliff notes: carmax is usually a rip off

i know from "blue-booking" my 03 touring with 55k miles on it, i should be able to get between 16.5K to 18k for it.

This is very tempting for me because although I love my Z, I feel like I should take advantage of this great resale value before the market becomes flooded with used 04's.

03 being the first model year is kinda known as the one with the most "bugs".
