Anybody going 160 mph would be traveling like a bullet and might crash very quickly into some slob meandering along at 80mph.
I have no doubt that people have hit these speeds...its crazy and reckless, yes...but on a quiet morning, open road...I know when I hit 130, it was for a short time

156 and was still accelerating fairly quickly since I was going down a slight hill.. But I let off because I was within a half mile of an 18 wheeler and wanted nothing to do with it at speeds in the 150's

That's pretty nuts, the 405 narrows by a lane and then turns right there.

I agree
I was at 6200rpm when I tapped 157.... I'm sure another 14mph would only take another 1Krpm

I hit 146 mph on my '06 z on Westpark Tollway in H-Town Texas. It was a great feeling. Stock too so I'm actually anxious once I get some N/A upgrades.

I hit 145 going down the ship channel on 6-10 and held it there for about a minute. It was 3 in the morning, just me and a whole lotta empty road...one of the best feelings in the world...

Z => 120 mph
G => 120 mph

I've been fortunate enough to have owned the Z (previous car; 6MT Performance) and the G (5AT). I was driving home from Las Vegas yesterday and going 120 mph for about 30 seconds and noticed a couple of things on the G compared to driving the Z at the same speed.

1. Stability. The G seems to shake a little bit (at the steering wheel). I don't know if this is due to the aftermarket wheels that I have on it now. On the Z (stock wheels and tires) at 120 mph, the car was very happy - very smooth and quite effortless.

2. Struggle. The G seems to struggle getting to 120 mph. I guess this is due to the fact that I was driving a 5AT.

Any thoughts on the differences in performance? Or is it just me?

the 5AT should not make any difference. It's locked up...unless it is defective.

What does "locked up" mean exactly?

The Cd of the Z (no aero) is .30 whereas the G (no aero) is .27 - is that correct? If so, what am I missing when it comes to speed and stability between the Z and the G?
