Default From C6 corvette to 06 350z

Hey guys. I've had my 350z for about one month now. I traded in my 05 c6 with 28k miles...loved the car but the payment was a little high. I could still afford it but didn't want to anymore..payment from 605 to 455.I also felt that the vette was gonna be very expensive to fix to once the warranty ran out being american built. the rear end slipped on u-turns. polished wheels(non-chrome) hard to keep clean from factory. I loved the speed though in the corvette..fast as hell..I had the auto..ran a 13.1 stock 1/4 mile down here in FL. ran a 12.6 with intake/exhaust/tune. had nav system..push button start.everything.I'm overall very happy with the Z as a replacement and I believe you can't find a better sports car around the 30k range than this..great fit and finish. Handles better than the 05 corvette but for some reason the 06 corvette handles better(which my bro has)..they did something to the steering for the 06 vettes compared to the 05's.. the 05 vettes took real effort to turn. So overall very happy with the Z. doesn't have the top end crazy speed but everything else makes up for it especially price. oh..where is the cheapest place online to buy jdm clear corners and splash guards?

Congrats on the car. my neighbour has an '05. He complained of the same thing (hard turning)...turned out the factory forgot to lube some of the driveline components (transaxle only half filled from factory) and joints were never lubed.

They took care of it and now runs better then when he first drove it off the lot.

I have found that Performance Nissan in Cali has some of the best prices on line and Jason is a regular contributor to this site.

mind dropped about $70 for a 6 month premium. If I had enough money to throw around though i would of kept the vette..the speed is just amazing in the new c6's. I think the vette is the best sports car for between 45k and 60K and the z for 28-35k. my bro put headers on his vette and i can't believe how much the vette responds to mods..it nets like 30-50rwh from just headers.

with a proper tune of course with the headers. search around the c6 forums and you will see dyno sheets of headers. these things respond very well to just bolt ons and a tune.

c6 z06s respond well to headers, not a regular old stock c6.

I'm pretty sure they have IRS. Even if they don't I'm sure they would have a coil setup anyway.

They have leaf springs and IRS, not sure why they use leaf springs but you can't really complain. The C6 handles extremely well, especially with the Z51 and Z06 packages.

GM has equipped the Corvette with two one-piece fiberglass composite leaf springs in place of coils. They run transversely across the width of the car, mounted in two places equidistant from the centerline. Each end is bolted to the bottom of an A-arm such that when the A-arm rises, the leaf pulls it down, again in proportion to a known spring rate. In this way, four coils are replaced with two leaf springs.

Because both coils and leafs in these configurations act only as simple springs and are not required to stabilize the wheels, their function is almost identical.

Dang, from a C6 to a Z, must be sort of a bummer. Oh well, your wallet doesn't think so.
