Default Buy a 2006 or 2007 350Z

I know there are some changes in store for the 350Z, but I want to get rid of my current car now and get a new car. Would anyone advise against getting an 06? is 07 going to be that much better?

If you're in a REAL hurry, get an '06; you won't really be missing out on anything. If you can wait ~ 4 months, I'd personally get an '07. Now, or in a few months, you'd be hitting a good deal with the '06s. Think about it...winter is also coming up (at least in most states)

what personaly would make you want to get an 07 over an 06, and I can wait max 2 week of november before my lease ends on my current car.

I would go for the '06, just because winter is coming up and you will get a hell of a deal, guarantee it will be below invoice. So wait 4 months and get an '06 uber cheap. The '07 is supposed to have more HP, but it will weigh more again I am sure (seems to be a Z trend, add a year, add 75 lbs), so it will be damn close to the same. I would personally take .1 slower 0-60 (note: this is an example) and save $2,000+. For $2,000 you will get more HP than you would in an '07.

well, seeing as how the 2007's come out in january, you're pretty much going to be in the market for a 2006. I think the people above are right, prices are always cheaper and winter, and with the upcoming 2007 model, dealerships might be willing to part with the Z's for a little less to clear room for the 07's.

Which is more fun? Driving a 350Z or waiting?

By the time his lease expires, he will know fully the answer to his question. By then, we should know all the details of the '07 (at least we did for the '06 last year).

Normally the next model hits a couple of months before the actual year hits but they say this one won't be around till January. I asked the dealership here and they say the same thing.

On another note, will the internals of the 07' be stronger ???

07 will hit the parking lot at the end of Sept or early Oct. It is the same every year (for North CA) I got my 05 at the end of Sept 04. The first batch.

I would buy 07 instead of 06 (same price but one year newer)

I wen with an 06 because I figured I'd get a better deal on it.

You could wait for 07 and it will be better, but its not a 100% new car so it's not going to be a huge waste to get an 06.

Weird marketing?

For the 06's they revamped the interior + rev-up

For the 07's, keep the 06 interior + 7200 rpm (7500?) 320hp engine

And 08, completely new body? + new engine?

Doesn't this seem weird to anyone? For 03-05 they kept eveything basically the same, but in these coming years, they're re-doing everything?

Note: Not sure if all the above info is correct, but it's from what i've been hearing/remembered~

with most car manf, they will have some minor change with exterior/interior every 2 years.

03-05: Same
06: some change in exterior

Expect another route of ex/in change in 08.
