Sorry but am I missing something here? What exactly is chirping? I understand that its when you shift and the wheels spin too fast or something of that sort. But I guess it has never happened to me or maybe I've just never noticed it. Could someone please explain it with a little more detail please?

Uh... 1st gear > gear change > chirp > 2nd gear > gear change > chirp > 3rd gear ...

If you understood what I said earlier, how do you not understand what a chirp means? Chirp is a sound that comes from your tires spinning faster all of a sudden than it was before.

simply said it's similar to peeling out but when you are upshifting... another thing is, you have to be quick on the clutch too... if you push and let off your clutch likea granny, then your not going to get the chirps, because the clutch is taking the momentum and making your engagement smoother...

just look at it like this... if your trying to burn out in first... do you slowly let out the clutch or do you rev up and dump it? that answer should explain all you need...

Just put some 175 all-seasons on the back and you should be able to chirp 5th and probably even 6th

Lets keep in mind that cobble stone streets are easier to "chirp" on

Also, if you have Base car you can dis weight the rear and get a chirp out of fourth almost every time. Be careful or you'll end up in a ditch though.

Tried to see if I could. Was kinda surprised. I need sticker tires now.

What do you mean by "dis weight the rear" ?

If you jerk the steering wheel to the right at the perfect time ( & popping the clutch) the weight comes up off of the right rear wheel. This dis weights the right rear tire allowing you to spin / lose traction more easily. This doesn't work on a LSD car. Just a little trick I learned when getting chirps was popular in the the 70's. Not proud of it but, it works.

Like I said, if you don't know what you are doing you'll find yourself in a ditch.

This can be done in long sweepers to the right as well but, even more risky if you don't know how to control a powerslide.

With your driving skills I'm not worried. With some of the yahoo's on here I would worry.

I got 275 tires in the rear, and i dont chirp 1-2 now . I used to be able to chirp 1-2 2-3 w/ quick shifting at 5k rpm w/ stock setup.

I, too, have 275s in the rear. I had P-Zeros and I chirped up to 4th.. Now I have Nittos, but I can't chirp into 4th as often as I could before. Funny because P-Zeros have better grip. I'm almost stock, btw.
