so you can blow a piston if your car sits too long? that's crazy, mine is garaged too and i don't drive it til the weekend, that's the only reason i'm a lil concerned.

Plenty of people in New England store cars all winter so I'd be surprised if it blew just from sitting there. Whatever the reason, good thing it was free!

I would like to add my .2 to this thread.

Performance Nissan took fantastic care of me on Tuesday. Had the gas filler recall addressed and what had me stressed was some clicking in the rear end. Fixed- no questions asked.

Thanks to Jason here in the board.

Thanks to Javier in service.

Prob. lack of grease from the factory on the axle. Check out this link.

Default hard to imagine how it would be your fault

Then again, "blow a piston" doesn't mean anything (except maybe in an automotive brothel.......)

If you sent a chunk of piston into the head, the parts bill alone would be mid-4 figures. Did you blow a hole in it? Crack it? Break a ring land? "Throw" it (broken pin boss, wristpin or small end on rod)? What actually happened?

Sounds like I need to visit performance Nissan. I live in the SFV and I have not heard of any good dealers near here.
