just went to autozone, had ses light checked. code 335. crank position sensor.

i have an injen intake, if i bring it in to nissan, should i put the stock intake back on so they don't blame the problem on the intake?

 

even though we all know its impossible for the intake to cause a crank sensor to go bad,the dealer will try and use any excuse to void your warranty.they have to prove it of course,id just put it back on.

 

Do a Google search for "Moss-Magnussen Act".

Auto companies cannot "void your warranty".

And they cannot deny a claim resulting from an aftermarket part unless they can conclusively prove that the aftermarket part caused the problem.

Aftermarket filters affect the MAS, not the crank position sensor.

Bill while this is true they can bust your ***** and try to void it just to make money. They make more from the public than warrenty work.

i honestly don't think you would have a problem keeping the intake on, but being that's it's not too bad to put the stocker back on, you might as well.

 

yea, i was thinking of change the cai to sri any ways, the biggest pain is the bumper!!

 

ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE CIRCUIT BOARD FOR THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR OR CAM POSITION SENSOR MAY HAVE AN IMPROPER SOLDER JOINT DUE TO SOLDER DEFORMATION CAUSED BY HEAT STRESS ACCELERATED BY THE EXISTENCE OF FLUX RESIDUE DURING THE SOLDERING PROCESS.

If your dealer can explain to you how an intake can possibly cause an improper soldier joint, he is a freaken mechanical genius.

 

is this from a bulletin? Im actually having a issue with crank sensor because im changing to a light wheel flywheel. The cant get it to work.

 

I had a similar problem with my 03 and the Crank Position Sensor. Before buying the car used, the dealer replaced the clutch, but the check engine light came on. It took 3 weeks and a call to the Nissan engineers to figure out that when they put the flywheel back on, it was a small percentage off, and the CPS wasn't operating correctly because of it. I think your problem is your flywheel is SLIGHTLY misaligned. After talking to the corporate engineers, the dealer tech told me this was apparently a design flaw for the 03 (and possibly 04).

Let them know about this.
