Default Anyone ever cancel their 350Z Extended Warranty?

I Plopped down $1300 on one when I bought the car 26 Months ago. I have close to 58K on it now.. I wonder how much I could get back if I cancel it?

Where does the money go? Do I get it? Does it go to the lein Holder?

Thanks

Not sure. You could call up the company that does the extended warranty and ask them.

Why don't you read your warranty documentation and see if there is a cancellation provision.

your in too deep, i think you should keep the warranty because i would say your more likely to experience troubles 75k+ miles. I have the extended warranty on my 03 and it comes out to $32/month with the $100 deductible. If it was canceled it would go to the lein holder and reduce your payments

Then see if it is transferable and you can use that to increase the value of your car.

If your extended warranty was purchased with the car loan, then odds are you won't get much back.... If you got a 5 year car loan and only payed off 2 years then you have yet to pay the entire $1300 for the extended warranty... Lien Holder will probably get like $400 back and you might get around $200 back, but im just guessing...

I bought a extended warranty for my G35 about 6 months before my std. warranty expired, the cost was $1800, i then traded it in for a FX35 2 months later, I talked the finance department at Infiniti and they sent in the paper work for me and I got like $1700 back on the extended warranty I bought... took them 3 months to send it to me tho...

I cancelled my extended warranty. Yes, the money goes directly to the lein holder. It is pro-rated, so you get whatever is left of it back. You probably won't get much if you do decide to cancel it.

Sometimes they pro rate the remainder of the warranty left and give you money back from whatever is still left.

Now, hmmm, there's something to think about. $1300 off the principle is like $25 off the monthly payment.

Can anyone reccomend somewhere i can purchase an extended warranty for a REASONABLE price? I bought it certified from nissan 4 months ago but neglected to buy the extended warranty due to the fact that i was planning on turbocharging the motor. Now i dont think i am gonna do that.

doesnt change the monthly payments... changes the amount owed... just like if you decided to put an extra grand into one of your car paments.... doenst reduce the monthly amount. just reduces the amount of months you have left to pay on it....

I bought the extended warrenty on my Z which I'm thinking of trading in for an 07 Z, can I transfer that to the 07 or will they just increase the value of the trade in which in return is paying for the new extended warrenty?

I cancelled mine a couple of weeks ago. The procedure was spelled out in the warranty document and just required me to write the local dealership requesting a cancellation, giving the date, mileage, and policy number. I haven't heard anything back yet. There's a $50 cancellation fee

For me I doubt that I'm going to have $1300 worth of stuff go wrong once the standard warranty is over. The car is 18 months old and still has 2400 miles as I keep it nearly new.

On my Xterra that I bought a couple of weeks ago I'm buying a service plan from my insurance company for $56 a year which covers me with a $250 deductable ... $1300/$56 is 23 years worth of coverage which is 20 years longer than the Nissan warranty.

I cancelled mine and got the money back. If you have a lienholder, the refund will go to them. If the lien is satisfied, then the money will go to you. I got $1501 back, boy did I get ripped off.
