Does anyone know what the object is directly below the hood latch release mechanism it has a plug going to it and looks like some sort of sensor. anyone know what it is?

Its hard to tell what you are circling in that pic, but if you are asking what I think you are, then its the sensor for the airbags or temperature (not sure which)

I'm pretty sure that's the outside air temp sensor. When I installed my oil cooler, which sits right in front of that sensor, I noticed that the temp reading on the trip computer went way up. Thats from the head given off by my oil cooler right at this sensor. On a 100° day, my outside temp gauge will show 130°+
