how do you tell if its a track with only the vin number?

well its not my car im thinking of buying it, it don't look like a track, becuase the rims are not the track ones and the breaks are brembo they say but not the stock brembo brakes... these ones are red( after market) so i was juts curious if you can tell by the vin number.. your suppose to? everthing in side the car seems like track. but with the weels it don't look like a track and i don't know why you would buy reguler rims if you had the track onese to begin with.

 

FOUND IT AZ34D means its a track edition. can someone just varify that, check your 4-7# numbers on you vin... if you have a track. it should say the same "AZ34D" thank you!

 

Track Model has the gold (sunset) colored brembos, and track Rays for rilms. And the Rays are nice. I know, I have a Superblack Black Track Model. Check the Registration, it's on there. And another more simple way is to go to any NISSAN Dealship and give them the VIN # and they can tell you right there on their computer.

 

yeah thats what i thaught... but they guy has red brembo breaks, and the reguler wheels power coated black... don't make any sence but the vin number sais its a track so it has to be right? well all the track models that i could see had the same numbers AZ34D does yours?

Check to see if it has VDC, TCS and the diffuser underneath that Track models have.

Let me ask you this: does it really matter?

At the point that car has been moded, what model it is to begin with doesn't mean squat. The brakes have been upgraded beyond the OEM Brembos, it has the Track wheels (just powdercoated) and that's about all you get in the Track above other models. It could be a Track or it could be a Performance; modded like that, the cars would be identical. If it has VDC and cloth seats and no Bose system, it's one of those two models, modded to be better than either.

 

Those are NOT the track edition wheels. They look like the 17" wheels that have been powdercoated

 

It's hard to tell in that pic, but those don't look like 17" wheels to me; I doubt the 17s would clear that BBK (could be wrong, though). Besides, no one in their right mind would spend the cash to put a Brembo BBK and all CF body kit on their ride, yet keep the crappy 17" wheels on it. BUT, you are right; they are not the Track Rays... too many spokes. At any rate, what I said before stands: if it has VDC, cloth and no Bose, it's either a Performance or Track and is upgraded to be better that either (save maybe the wheels, but that's easily remedied).

If it has TCS instead of VDC, it is an enthusiast.

 

The factory 17's will clear the factory Brembo kit, I've had them on my car. It looks like that is a factory Brembo kit on the car that has been powdercoated. I agree with the comment on why would you put 17's on a car with those mods. Little wierd. I suggest you go look behind the rear tires and see if the diffusers are there that comes with the track package. Do a search on here to find pics of the track edition diffusers.

 

Its a BASE model built in 5/2003, Super black, black interior, with a manual transmission. Thats all i can see from the VIN, model # is GLJALSYZ33EUAE----

If the car has VDC and TCS, then its a Track or Performance model with the base/enthu. model rims. If it has leather/bose audio, its a touring. If it doesnt have VDC its an enthu. If it doesnt have TCS then you have a base. All I know is that the Z has the track model brakes with powder coated red calipers.
