I don't usually have any issues with repaired cars. Just wish the sales people were honest about it.

90% of the time when a salesman says "i dont know" or "not that i know of " they are telling you the truth.... they really dont know
When I traded-in my 1990 300ZX for my 2005-Z, I was asked to indicate on a form if the car had been in any accidents. I did so. You may have a case against the person who sold the car to the dealer.

you should ask ANY DEALERSHIP for a carfax of the car you want to buy.. if they wont do it then you dont buy it...
truth be told half the time a car is taken in on trade, it is taken in site unseen and the saleman and dealership didnt know it was wrecked

if you have a clean carfax you have 100 times the chance of getting a clean car as buying one without a carfax

Oh my god, it was probabally fender bender. What would the dealer know about it? Why would they care? Why do you care?
Stuff happens, if the car was flodded, or salvaged (like mine, and I don't care, of course I knew....) I could see you being mad, but calm down. As for a car that was broken in to, again, why is the dealer slimey for not telling you, again, I'm sure they didn't know, and, if if they did, why does a little glass under the seat matter?

carfax really doesn't tell you anything. The car could have been rear ended which it looks like because the two rear quarter panels and the rear bumper have been repainted. As long as it didn't get claimed on insurance and the person paid out of pocket it wont go on carfax.
I've never heard of that law and don't see how it could be true. That means the shop would have to report every vehicle that came through the shop. We never did that the whole time I worked at a shop.
Also what makes you think the quarters and bumper cover have been painted? Overspray, bad blending, etc? Chances are if it was hit hard enough to paint the quarters the bumper cover would have been toast. Most shops will get a good enough paint match that they won't have to blend the panels for a bumper cover?
