I agree, you really do have to be close to see the difference. The SB I owned was a Maxima, but still SB. From a distance both paints just look deep black. I agree with glowz825 too, and it's not just with headlights, but patchy light will do it too. With some light making it through my garage windows, or the tree by my driveway, and the rest of the car in shade, the shaded looks deep black and the unshaded looks dusty in certain light angles cause of the flake reflections, even with the car being spotless. Only see that when close though and only certain times of day, other times you can just see the flakes without the dust-like effect.

To the OP, as far as preference, I would have been happy with either, I think the base paint in MB is SB.

Cool

I like metallic black A LOT more than plain gloss black. My new Night Runner is metallic black.

superblack is much better. true black is so much better than metallic black. just like the jet black vs carbon black in M3's.

I got MB. Well, SB and MB look the same to me IMO.. but when the sun hits,
that's different story. Metalic on MB doesn't stands out too much though but it sure is unique.

Well today i had the chance to shoot some magnetic black paint on some body parts (painter) and ill have to say. I like Magnetic black much much much more than Super Black. As far as a color magnetic black is much sexier and a much better "color" @ that.

While super black is nice it is just so plain, its deep but thats about it.

Magnetic black has the beautiful metal flake and some of you may not know this buut the magnetic black has green pearl in it which adds allot more character to the actual color.

just my .02c

I agree --but its kinda apples and oranges-------Whats really awesome is a Super Black with a Red Pearl added, and no matter what, I get off on a flaked paint and a flaked Black is sweet

IMO, I saw a MB and SB in person at a local meet at D&B's Irvine, and to tell you the truth, they both look very similar. I am partial to SB though. Can someone post a pics of MB in the sunlight? I'll do the SB.

Wow, I really love that color! It doesn't even look black, looks like a super dark charcoal.

yep. the color is awesome. its not that light the pics are just at an angle where the sun really lights up flake and the pearl. most of the time just looking at it, it looks black. ill take some shots in the shade here in a min.

Nice pics B ...

The MB does look just like SB on the road and from distances, but up close is where the difference is. I think up close sometimes it doesn't look as clean as it really is because of the flakes. I'm not sure which one I like better now! Used to be a SB owner and now a MB owner ...

Those Ings skirts looks great BTW B ... really impressed. I always thought if I wanted to get something painted for my MB it would be hell to get someone to do it right.

Thanx Mahnot. They came out pretty well. Ill have to take pics when its on Justins car, were putting on a vertex front and ings sides/rear. its really wierd how the color is. WHen i lay the base coat u cant even tell what the final color is going to look like. u can barely see the metallic and no pearl at all but man when the clear goes on all the colors just jump out. This is one of my new fav colors for the Z.
