Mine has never fit a single pair of sunglasses I own. I had some old dragons that would fit here in no way, not sure if the pair of spies I got will fit.

Seems to me it's made for flat wire frame glasses.

Mine only fit one way. The lenses down and the top of the glasses facing away from me.

The Z has a sunglass holder?! Mine doesn't... must be one of those useless frill items they put on after '03. Jeez, it's a sports car; if you want a compartment for everything, get a minivan!

Works fine for me, I have Oakleys and a crappy pair and both fit. My gf sunglasses don't even fit in the cubby above the radio, you have to angle them in.

I like it as I can keep three fully loaded magazines for my .45 up there within quick reach. You never know when the zombies are going to attack in number.

Na my Oakleys dont fit in their, or at least I havent tried to angle em in, I use one of those bulky cases to protect em anyway so they go in the armrest.

On another note, i found a pair of glasses in their a week after I bought the car....and to my surprise were clearly ladies glasses. Only surprised because the Z is 6 speed with intake and exhaust, not something i expected a female to do to a brand new 03 touring, but maybe her man did it for her.

2003 should have the sunglass holder. I have the sunglass holder and mine is a 2003. It's the little compartment that is between the rearview mirror and the cieling lights.

I suspect that the 2004+ had it enlarged to fit more glasses since someone said they can fit a half jacket in their compartment and I can't even come close to fitting my half jacket Oakleys in mine.

I do think when they were designed, it was poorly thought of and only intended for frame glasses that don't have lots of curves or those add on shades that you hook over your everyday glasses(if you have one).

As for being useless, I think it is very useful (if it would actually hold my oakleys) I would use that compartment for my sunglasses all the time, since that is really the only thing I constantly bring in and out of the car.

Hmm, well damn, I'll have to look again, but I'm pretty sure my '03 Track doesn't have that compartment...
