So today I have AAA send a tow truck to bring my Z to the dealer for a horrible noise coming out of the front. I'm almost positive something is amiss with the flywheel, so I didnt want to drive it there, and leave it parked at home this morning. The guy comes, and its this grumpy old dude.
He gets mad when i point out that he needs to put some planks down or the front is gonna scratch.
We get the car all loaded on, and then no more than 2 blocks down the road, he smashes the side of the truck bed into a parked SUV.
and the whole time all i can think is i hope nothing happened to the Z. The good thing is that it didnt hardly jostle when it happened. After sitting around for about an hour while the lady and the driver deal with stuff, and CHP comes, we go to the dealer. The Z is fine, although now it still has to be in the shop for the loud noise, and grindy window motors.
on a side note, my theory on the noise is that a bolt has either broken or come loose on the flywheel. The clicking follows rpms directly, at all rpms. doesnt matter whether its under load, what gear its in, whether the clutch is engaged, or anything. that pretty much eliminates anything backwards from teh clutch, the clutch itself, and it definitely isnt a valve or rod problem (no noise coming from the case when i had my head in there). any thoughts on that? its a brand new 06 i've had for 1 month (literally) and has 4300 miles
anyone else had bad experiences towing the Z?
