Default A little research before purchase!!!!!

Hi. my name is ed and right now i drive a 140hp weakling 4 banger. im tryin to get rid of that right now and im researching on which car i want to get next. Im looking for Twin T supras but no luck so far. if i dont find that, then im gettin a 350. Now i got a couple of questions. Before that, let me tell you my goal with my new car. HORSEPOWER . I want to get the greddy twin turbocharger. First i want to know which year z would be the best for this and what model. I want to get the base model b/c its eventaully gonna get ripped apart and put together with new parts. Im deff getting a new car. I dont buy anything used.

Also do z's come in Yellow?

Lastly, would it be wise to have a Z with 450 hp in 6 speed or A/T?

Thanx alot

-Ed

WSelcome.

There are minor performance differences between models. Primarily 287 vs 300 horsepower. Different models offer amenities such as VDC. Look. Read. Drive.

Forced induction? I recommend that you get a 350Z first.

my plan was to go TT too. now that I have the car it is a rush to drive and loving every min of it. I desided and opted to get other NA mods instead and go the nitrouse rout since the Z is plenty for everyday driving and ricer killing

No. Review the buying forum. Maybe 1 out of 10 new members who are gonna buy a 350Z ever do. In fact, most gonna buy threads die in a week.

If we look at the 350Z and forced induction, maybe 1 in 1,000 owners ever go forced induction.

if you want a manual, get an 05, if you want an auto, get an 06.

If you want to save money to buy mods, then you may be best off with an 04. I would just avoid the 03's due to their tire wear issues.

Sorry to have to correct you ....but.... the Ultra Yellow ( paint code E33) was ONLY available for the '05 models. each year there is a special color issued for the Z that costs an extra $500. For each year's special color see below:

2003 - Brickyard
2004 - ???
2005- Ultra Yellow
2006 -Interlagos Fire

Also the 35th Anniversary Z came in Ultra Yellow, however not all Ultra Yellow Z's are 35th Anniversary editions.

Just my 2c

How soon are you going to build the car? If your going to build it relatively quickly, I suggest a base model 2005 and use the money saved to pay for your upgrades - TT Kit, Big Brakes, Rims/Tires, LSD, etc.
