Default clutch length

i just tried to lay a fatty burnout in front of my buddy's house and had a friend of mine in the car and some groceries in the back (mainly water and coke) and i reved up to about 5k and dumped the clutch in 2nd. usually the car spins its wheels just fine but nothing happend excepted the engine reving and the clutch completely slips. i only have 4500 miles on the car and it's bothering me because im scared that maybe me clutch is already gone. i was wondering what the aprox. life of the clutch on our car is when it is run pretty hard. and is it under warrenty? thanks for the input.

Question

Clutch abuse is not covered under the Nissan warranty. Are you over 18?

i wouldnt think your clutch would be slipping even when aggresivly driven after 4,500, either you have a defected clutch or you cant drive a stick, quit RIDING that clutch....thats what that smell is

if you're doing that very often, well, there's your answer. you've burned it up.

dont do it that often but once in a while. i had a lot of weight in the back because of the soda and water. could that have been why my tires didn't spin, cause of all that weight.

Did it feel like the clutch was stuck? Did the pedal come up? Others including myself have had issues with the clutch sticking in 06s when launching. Sometimes it happens andsometimes it didn't. I did a 2500 rpm launch in 1st and it stuck and burnt the **** out of the clutch. I did a couple more a day later and no problems at all... not sure that you can complain to the dealer that the clutch is sticking while doing 2500 rpm (or 5000 rpm in your case) launches...

that 15 pounds of liquid in the trunk had NOTHING to do with it, your car isnt a manual turbo deisel you cant granny shift it.......next time start in first let clutch out slowly them dump and nail gas and slip your clutch foot over to the brake and slowly mess with the brake and gas,,,,keep it at a decent rpm....but i wouldnt recommend doing burnouts in this car.....

you can't do that with the VDC though... if you hit the brake it cuts throttle.

pull the fuse and your set. Once you get going in first, then power shift into 2nd, maybe on wet asphalt you could dump it in 2nd, but I wouldn't do it...

I have had my clutch stick maybe half a dozen times, with my 06.

The pedal fails to return to it's fully upright position sometimes.

I have noticed that it happens if I slip the clutch too slowly, while giving it lots of gas at the same time.

First time it happend was on the freeway and holy sheet it smelled like a%%.

Same here, sometimes it gets stuck, sometmies it doesnt. I dont do burn outs in it, I figure if the pedal gets stuck just taking off with some wheelspin, then a burnout would be bad. I think thats true what someone said about the Z not being a good car to smoke tires in. Even it was...tires are too expensive.

When my 1997 Hardbody was new, I could sit in one spot and smoke the tires in second on dry pavement and that's a 150+/- HP 4 banger.

Now with 18's on it, I could probably do it but on wet pavement only.

its smoother in second when you jsut peel out but not brake stand. for brake stands you go in first.
