350Z comparisons
While watching Motor Trend TV last night,I saw a report on the 2002 NSX(which I think is one of the best cars in the world though overpriced).I decided to get some hard numbers Comparing the Z,NSX and the Porsche 911 Coupe.
NSX-weight(3153),hp(290@7100),torque(224@5500),redline(8000),dra g(.30),length(174.2),width(71.3),0-60(4.8 as per MT).
Porsche-3130,320@6800,273@3500-4500,redline(?),175.9,69.7,0-62(5.0 seconds as per manufacturer specs)
Z-mostly estimates,weight(3100-3200),hp(280-300@6500),torque(270@5000),redline(6500?),drag(.31?)length(1 69),width(69),0-60(?)
It is amazing how close theses cars are in many specs except for one:PRICE.If the Z can perform anywhere close to these 2 cars,JMANZ prediction of a 0-60 time in 5.2 should be real close.

If the Z meets or exceeds the NSX numbers, which it looks like it does, and if it's hitting its peak hp and tq at lower rpms, which it looks like it will, why would the NSX be faster?

Mind you.... you can buy three Z's for one NSX.
Give me the Z anyday for that very reason.

If you were comparing a 90-93 area NSX versus the new Z, then I top my hat to the Z, after 94 though... they got seriously bad ***. A new NSX would dismantle a Z in every category.

Touring is right, the NSX didnt get it's 290hp engine until 97.
But of course all we're talking about here is performance, which in my book is only part of the equasion. If we were comparing, say, interior materials and build quality, the cost of the NSX vs. the Z would be apperant.
(not to dis the Z, Im simply saying you cant state the NSX is over priced on performance values alone).

I am not saying the NSX is overpriced on performance. The car is pure quality, handbuilt and only 200 will be made for the US.What I mean is you can purchase many MB,Lexus,BMW that are 1000's less and have equal quality and performance. If money was no object the NSX is on my top 3.An exotic car that can be used everyday.

That is the best way to sum this car up! It can be driven everyday, pushed hard to it's limits' handle with the best sports cars on earth, pretty damn quick, and you can park it next to a 360 Modena or Diablo, and not be completely 'shut-down'! A very good friend and business partner of mine had a 2000 Black NSX with minor mods (exhaust & intake) but the appearance of that car draws oohs & ahhhs wherever we would go. I would keep the car and house-sit for him and drove that car to the limits (and yes, he knows how I am
) and I must say, to this day, for $80k if someone said: Marcus, you must choose 1 sports car for $80-$90k, a NSX would be in my garage! I've been fortunate to have driven among the best out there, and for this price: reliability, performance, and curb-side appeal, NSX wins hands down.

yum, at least you guys have good taste.
a gucci leather jacket comes with a pretty high price tag. i bought my ex a hugo boss leather coat and that was a pretty $950 - and that wasn't even half his present. Well, Gucci or not, still a beautiful leather jacket.

DAMN!!! Someone please call the cops, the guy in the picture above stole my jacket.
I have an exact leather jacket, at least from the looks. Mine is by Gucci, what brand is yours, TXSTYLE?

And you know the funny thing, you are the 3rd person who though that it was Gucci. I have about 4 leather coats, and this is one of the nicest (in overall look & quality) yet the next least expensive one I own is twice as expensive!!!

TXSTYLE, what ethnic origin are you? You look to be either Middle Eastern or Hispanic. Hey, I'm just wondering.

I also am in lust with the NSX and would get it over the Z if I had the bucks. I've never seen it in that color (in the picture with TxStyle) and I don't think it does much for the car. I really like the new blue NSX and I'm hoping that's what the Daytona Blue on the Z looks like.
