Default What "stage" is your Z?

Not that I'm really thrilled by the concept of upgrade "stages" but has anyone put together a list of what is Stage 1, 2, etc.? I.E.,

Stage 1 - intake
Stage 2 - exhaust
Stage 3 - ???
etc.

Performance mods are the only ones that count, right?

What stage are you?

OR

What stage do you plan for your Z to attain?

Anybody wanna try a list of stages?

Steve

P.S. I don't know what stage I'm going for. I'll just see what I end up with, if it ever ends, hehe.

I think it should be

Stage 1 - Intake/Exhaust/Headers/ECU (basic bolt ons)
Stage 2 - Turbo or supercharger
Stage 3 - Full blown race car

Stage 1 definately, stage 2 probably 5 years down the road.

I think it should be slight modification to the above:

Stage 1 - Intake / Exhaust (Including Headers)
Stage 2 - Suspension / Handling upgrades
Stage 3 - Fuel / Engine management (ECM etc.)
Stage 4 - Forced Induction etc.
Stage 5 - All out strip down from ground up rebuild race car? :-D

Definately Stage 1 and 2, but still waiting on proven products before proceeding.

you might beable to take the "intake" off the list as far as stages go, since it might be proving to NOT be a performance MOD at all for the Z. I have put intakes on every car I have owned for the past 12 years, BUT I might pass on teh Z, the DYNOs are proving that it may actually do NOTHING or take away from performance

I know this has nothing to do with the 350Z, but the Acura RSX Type-S is gaining 22+hp on the CAI's. Stages are different levels of boost (performance). Stage 1 cams, turbo, pistons, etc. It isn't a level of bolt-ons etc. A stage 1 turbo/supercharger, will not produce the numbers a stage 2 or higher will.

I had never heard of this "stage" thing till I got my 300ZX, I thought it was the most absurd thing in the world I have owned and tuned alot of different cars and have never heard of any group of owners trying to classify there upgrades in a pre-ordaned order. Whatever
