the Z, the wife, and the back of the garage. they don't mix well
well, the new Z is no longer flawless...
this morning my wife was leaving for work. (i drive the beater Explorer to work since she works close and has a parking garage for the ZR). the Z is in the garage and she starts it up, doesn't make sure it's in neutral, and immediately dumps the clutch, thinking it is.
the following pics are the aftermath. luckily the Z didn't get hurt too bad. it's minor enough, i'm debating even fixing it. we'll see. the garage...that's going to be quite a repair job.

i've seen e-brakes give out more than once on a vehicle. it's not pretty if it's much of a hill. i'm sure this wouldn't happen on a new Z, but you never know
You're lucky! There's a video floating around the internet of a guy showing off his brand new Mustang GT Eleanor, and I think a little kid gets in, turns the key with the transmission in gear and the car takes off through the garage wall! Maybe it was posted here where I saw it.

Look at it this way... Good excuse to go aftermarket...

i've definitely got some leverage with my wife, so who knows what will happenand just for a little background. she hasn't been driving a standard tranny for very long. i taught her on my '00 altima just before we sold it to get the Z a couple months ago. so i can't blame her too much. i remember when i was 15, i started my dad's '72 blazer while it was in 1st (granny gear). it actually started, hopped a curb and kept going until i hit the clutch and brake. it was still running when it stopped
