Unhappy **edit thread name** Maybe keeping the Z after all...

It has become a very exiting time browsing through the FI section. The FCON is becoming the most popular EMS solution. There are at least 5 Z's (that we know of) on their way to 10's, etc, etc...
Unfortunately this is something that I am not yet ready to participate in, money-wise. Maybe in the next 2-3 years, but not now.
This where I have to make my choice, I can keep the Z (5AT), throw on a Sharif-spec VB and an ST kit and enjoy a decently fast car (staying out of the way of the SRT8 people) or get a V8 muscle car and enjoy crazy performance for relatively little $$.
I will have to go with the latter. My current Z will be my trade in for a new daily driver within the next few month and a 2005 GTO will be my new project car. I am feeling good about the power potential I am going to have, but I miss the crap out of my 2003 SS already.
Maybe in the future I'll get a nice SS roadster as a third car to park between my daily driver and my go-fast car. Unfortunately for me the Z is not practical enough to be the former and too pricey to mod to be the latter...
Just had to vent, sometimes the logical thing to do is not the most emotionally gratifying...
Sorry for the gay thread, just had to vent a bit...

Its possible but I doubt it. The pressure sensors in the wheels are sending units. The signal is so weak that the probability of another vehicle picking it up is slim.

If you want a turbo-350Z with a built motor, there are several vendors here who can certainly do it. Just give them a call and your credit card number. Make it happen.

We've heard your "venting" for the past year in the FI forum. Just sell the car already and get your euro trash holden "GTO".

Oh, and bye.

Anyway I posted this yesterday after I got home from a drive to Phily and back, this is the longest I've spent driving the Z in a very long time. I kinda knew before that the Z going, but I just realized that I got more attached to this thing then anyone should get attached to a car. Hence the rant.

OK, just came back from a Pontiac dealership. Spoke to a dumbass salesman that acted like the GTO's were flying off his lot. He seemed not bothered with the fact that it is almost 2007 and we are talking about a 2006 car, not a hugely popular one. So he offered me 17G for the Z and asked for 30K plus the gas guzzler, etc for the GTO.
I told him I'll come back in spring and offer him less the 25K for the GTO and he'll be happy to finally sell it. He laughed, I laughed, I left, he stayed, I am not an idiot, he still is.
Anyway, looks like a switch to the GTO may be more $$ then I thought. I'll try again in march-april, if I don't get the price I want, I'll just drop 10K worth of REASONABLE power adders in to the Z and just enjoy it.

Hah, touring with navi, less then 26K on the odo, the car is clean, clean, clean.
Personally I don't care what it would be appraised at, as long as the car-to-car switch $$ would be less then 11 grand.

I've got 21,700 on the odo. Got you beat . I was just wondering because I'm tossing around some ideas as you are and was wondering how much dealers are trying to rip us off.

Dealers are the biggest ******* con artists ever. I can bet anything that he'll call me withing next week and invite me in for further "discussion".
Quite frankly, these GTO's are not going anywhere, some dealerships still have 05's in stock...
21,700, not a DD I presume.

No...it's not. I was thinking of pissing off the wife and getting an older NSX or maybe a 330CI. Yeah the dealers **** me off so much. They offer you a car for 30 and act like they're your friend. Then they'll offer you the same car 20minutes later for 26. I mean come on. How can you not be insulted by that practice. I'm sorry but my friends don't try to rob me of 4K.

The new BMW 335i looked a bit tempting. But still want to do a project car, so it is too early for one for me. That GTO will stay stock for less then 2 weeks after purchase.

Hey Oleg. Have you gone to edmunds.com? Check this out.

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/pont....html?action=2

It actually says that the Invoice w/ the gas guzzler tax is $31,257. That means that if you subtract the tax then they'r only making $43 off of you.

Yeah, the 335i is sweet. The GTO seems like a good choice for a project car. I'm sure you can get tons of power out of that car w/ just some breathing mods and a tune. I think the black would look sick w/ some black rims.
