Ordered last week and have question?!?
I just put a deposit down last week and my dealer said that if I was lucky, I could maybe get it by Nov or Dec.
My question is: Is an actual order going to be placed for my car to be built or is just going to be luck of the draw if my dealer gets in the setup I want (Enthusiast/Silverstone/AT)?
I knew I should have ordered earlier but had to talk the wifey into it. lol...
Thanks for any info!

If he was talking about you being lucky for a Dec arrival you are most likely on his list for the regular dealer allotment for the ones who didn't get in on the preorder. He will be able to swing the car you want by already having the order but it will all depend on when that car gets built and if it hasn't already been allotted to another dealer.

Thats what I figured
I hope like hell he can get one in by then. I don't think I could ait much longer, especially when I will be seeing them on the road already.
He did have 3 pre-orders where the people had backed out, but they were not the colors or model I wanted unfortunately.

I would bet that being from Texas that you could most likely find what you wanted from another city's dealer unless you are going for the most unusual combo. Texas seems to have a big allocation from the numbers I have seen.

Well, to be honest, I don't mind waiting until Nov or Dec, but I'll be really pissed if that time comes and it still hasn't gotten in. I called all the dealers in the rather large surrounding area and I got the same story from them. Some even told me they wouldn't be getting in any unsold units until Feb or March.
At least the dealer I went to didn't try to mark up the MSRP. He said they would though if the other dealers in town started doing it. I made him specifically put in the buy order that he would sell it at MSRP no matter what, when/if it comes in.
Do you know if dealers are notified in advance of what is coming in when they are sent their shipments and if so, how much lead time do they usually get?
By the way, I'm not looking for any unusual setup - Enthusiast/Silverstone/Auto

Speaking from buying cars that haven't been in as much demand. Yes, they usually have a heads up of at least a month. With the dealer having a buyer already lined up it won't be a problem getting the car in. As you have seen already on these threads, guys who were supposed to get their cars in Aug and Sep are already being told of delays.
I don't think cars ever get in when they are expected. I wouldn't hedge your bets too much on Dec although my dealer told me that was when he expected his first bunch of non-preorder cars to come in.
