I drove from El Paso, TX to Northern Virginia in 2 1/2 days and drove for 16hours on one day. No complaints I actually liked it. Since I had my suspension put in the longest that I've driven was about 4 hours and that wasn't bad either.

I feel you on that one....600 miles for 9 hours no cruise at all....switched legs while driving here and there but had no issues with back pain...I actually like my seat a lot just wish there was a little more side bolster.

Yeah I always take my wallet out when I drive. I bet its my posture more than anything, if not, the angle of the seat... i try to put it very up right to help out but that didn't do a whole lot... I actually can't wait to put the sparcos in because the lumbar support is better... they hug you tighter... but the lumbar support is what I think will help me out.

+1 on the wallet thing. It makes me sit sideways cuz i'm such a bawla. Nah really though your wallet does make you sit tilted slightly to the side. Even with that I still get a tense back on drives over 2 hours. In my case my upper back is a little to wide for the seat. I'm in the process now of trying to find a more comfortable seat.

+2 on the wallet... i swear i have minor OCD.. wallet comes out.. cell phone out... change out of pockets. etc etc

I wouldnt mind putting a nice sparco in my 350.. but i will wait until the car is that serious.. or i need to replace the seats.

Try this before you give up on the stock seats....

They make all the difference in the world!
I'm one of the original guys who put the inflatable lumbar bladder from that aircraft company in the driver's seat back in '03, when the original thread introduced the idea. It's been working great ever since, and made ALL the difference in the world for three years now.

Do it - it's simple and effective. The original thread can be found in search.

+1. The inflatable lumbar pad also works under the thigh for support.

The Z is a dream on long trips compared to the Elise. A two hour drive made me want to get a new spine.

I find the Z seats to be comfortable, fits nice. I've driven for 2+ hrs and have had no problems.

I guess you have never driven in an EVO or an Elise for a long road trip before. You would be begging for the Z. I hated driving the EVO on the highway. It was so whiny and the no cruise control just sucked.

No excuse for not have great seat in a sports car. The best seats I have ever sat in are the seats in my firebird. They are leather, with inflateable lumbar and side boulsters, and adjustable for your thighs. I am going to test fit them in my roadster, and if they fit, I will make brackets, buy a used set and have them recovered in cloth.

The Z has a nice seat. It really depends on your body type. I'm not sure how big you are, but since you're saying that the firebird seats are the best seats you've sat in, I'm going to assume that you're on the larger side? That seat may work better for you, but for the average sized driver, the Z's seats fit really well, and offers plenty of support. You can't design a seat that can accomodate all body types perfectly.

have you guys ever sat in a VW R32? Those seats will kill you. Also check out the seat wheel while ur at it. It'll take your whole hand to grasp the steering wheel.

Not all sports car have great seats ok.

It wouldnt be so bad with no cruise if the gas pedal was diffrent. In my porsche the cruise went out but i could just press on the pedal with the toe of my shoe as it went all the way down the floor. The pedals in the Zs are made for midget feet.

Nope, I am average, 5'6" 165. The firebird seat is just more comfortable, and more supportive. All around a better seat. Now what is really wierd, the camaro seats are horrible and that car is the same platform as the firebird. I consider the z33 seats average for a sports car.
