FatZo

I haven't received a single thing despite my best efforts by calling Nissan Canada and my dealer. I spoke to Greg last night he mentioned that some people have backed out and he would be calling people to fill the spots (didn't tell me any dates though).

Greg could not confirm anything for me. Again I ordered April 21, 2002 ... no info on delivery!

arggggggggggggg!

Just kidding. I think that you may have missed the boat brother. I think you are on Alt Nissans list for the first of the non-preorders.

principe,
Bobbyz may have been all confused but he's right that you might not be on the actual pre-order list since you didn't receive a call from Nissan Canada confirming your order. Alta may have greedily swallowed more than they can handle. Sure hope you can still have your car before winter since you are such a devoted follower of the350z!

Now you guys got me thinking. I called the dealership last night Greg (manager at Alta Woodbridge) did not know what I was talking about when I said pre-order! He said I was in the second wave.

Think I'll call Nissan Canada again! and see what they can tell me. Have you guys received calls or notices from Nissan Canada. My sales person did tell me that I should receive a call within 2-3 weeks of the purchase date ... wrong no one ever called me!

Now I'm really confused!

Winter in Canada with Z will suck. (Even in Victoria and Vancouver where it doesn't usually snow, it will be raining all the time so it will still suck.) You will really need that TCS and VDC! (I used to live in Toronto and in Victoria and had an '81 RX7 so I know of what I speak. I can imagine a rear-drive sportscar with lots of power in the snow. Then again, I never put on snow tires.)

But in Canada you get the equivalent of the Touring 6-speed model for a lot less money (with exchange), so in many ways it's a better place to buy a Z. (But wait -- do you have to pay GST? That will bump the price back up again!) And the maximum speed in Kilometres will be a big-*** number to throw around!

Hey Jackson1628,

didn't I tell you in another post before(I think it was on the Freshalloy forum) that there's no way you are going to get your car in August if you ordered it in June?

I think all you people are either misinformed or are being lied uppon and are too ignorant to realize it. According to my dealer at Alta Nissan Richmond Hill, the manager claims that they are getting 4 cars for the first shipment, which accounts for August and September, and the second shipment which will be another 3 or 4 cars which will account for October and November. So basically they will be getting 2 cars each month, which agrees with the info that I got from Willowdale Nissan. Unless someone else droped out of the line, and you are paying $5000 extra to jump infront of the cue, you will have to wait for a while if you order your car now! Say August next year! That's August 2003.

Nissan Canada only planned on getting 750 350Z for the 2003 production year, so there won't be one for you to p/u from the dealer if you don't order one. Kind of like the Integra Type-R that I once had.

I was promised first allocation when I placed my order on March 4th, and was later told a different story and end up having to wait till October, and I'm still not sure whether it's true that I'll get my car in October or not. The manager at my dealer showed me all the orders that were placed for the Z and I'm 7th in line, but he says that he can only place the order for the first 4 cars because that's all Nissan Canada alloted them, and my order will have to wait till Nissan Canada gives them the go ahead for the second order. It's all BS to me but what can I do? The Manager said "If you want, we can refund your deposit?!" Now what am I gonna say?

Don't get the Cobra, unless you have a pair of fuzzy dice and want to match them up with a car. Pound-for-pound, the Z is a much superior car.

Every now and then I think about heading to Downtown Fine Cars or Pfaff to inquire about a 225 Audi TT. If I knew my Z was coming around September, I would be content, but If I get fu$%ed by the dealer and dont get the car intil the new year, I'm all over the TT. I'm driving a ******* now that someone lent me until my car comes, but I cant take it much longer. The A/C barely blows cool (not even close to cold) and there is only an AM/FM radio. Damn I'm spoiled and sound like a,ittle brat now..ok, I'll stop my rant

I totally hear ya. I myself am getting a bit tired of the wait. I was expecting the car in Sept, but then I was sadly informed by my dealer that it is actually a Sept production In the meantime, I'm looking for a used 911 or 930. If I find a nice one, the Z is out!
