Talk me into Buying a Z
OK...Here is the deal.
I have wanted a Z for a while, but am uneducated. I have heard many complaints about the Z being underpowered.
I currently have an 06 Armada, and 05 Titan.
I was getting the oil changed on the Titan and test drove a 2005 350Z 35th Anniversary Edition. Sticker price was 36K, retail book is 34K, Private Party 31K, Wholesale 28K. The car is in excellent condition with only 7200 miles. It has all options except navigation.
I was dealing with the General Manager and was in his office. I "accidently" saw his used car report on his desk, and read upside down the they were into the car for 25,916. I offered 26,500, and they countered at 27,800 +fees.
Talk me into....or out of....it
thanks

ahhh. well try to stick to 26 because i think 28 is a little high. As for bolt ons.... Your not gonna get tremendous power out of them but you could take a second off your quarter for 2 to 3 g's. All depends on what you wanna do.

gonna need to go forced induction to see considerable gains. and the VQ isn't exactly made for high boost so you'd want to build your engine.. depends what you want to go for man.

Like everybody else said, if you gotta think about it, or convinced either way, then it's not for you. Don't buy it if you gotta be talked into it. Buy it because you want to buy it. I took my Sentra in for service, and it was love at first site. Got an 06 with 51 miles on it, for $26k.

(sleazy car salesman voice)
I was going to give it to you for 45k cause they are selling so hot everywhere but since I like you, you should just buy it for 37 (9k over msrp) and get free floor mats.

I'm not sure of what type of hp gains you are trying to achieve but, it has already been stated, the Z is not a supra, you will have to invest much time and money to get there. As for talking you into buying a Z, I hope I have not discouraged you. The Z is an exceptional sports car that would out perform a supra if built right. Like davidv said, go walk around a (super black) Z and tell me what you feel.
