Default Trading In

Thinking about trading in my 05Z for an 06. When I bought my current one I thought I'd be able to get used to the 5AT. Now I'm still kicking myself in the @ss for not waiting until I could get a 6mt with options i wanted. Also I really want PPW. At the dealership here they have a really sharp PPW 6mt with touring package.

Basically what I want to know is if anyone sees any reason why I shouldn't swap all my mods over immediately when I trade the car in. Should I wait a little while to make sure the new car isn't a "lemon". It would really suck if the engine is bad from the factory, but dealership tries to claim it is because of aftermarket plenum etc.

I would like to just swap parts from old car to new one at time of trade in. This would be so much easier than returning the trade in the factory specs before trading it in.

I have an appt. at the dealership tomorrow to talk #s and all that good stuff. I am taking all my receipts with me, just out of curiosity to see what they would give me for trade in if I leave all mods in place.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Gary

I'd pre/post dyno the plenum if you do it, just to see if it's a keeper. Ah, 22" spinners? Please don't keep them.

The dealer is not going to like this idea.

The dealer will not give you anything extra for the mods that you've installed on your Z. You're better off selling the Z to a private party & use the $$$s to purchase an '06.

Actually I asked the dealer about this when I was feeling them out. Said the dealership would swap parts out for me, but I really wouldn't want them working on my new car, plus I'd want to wait a few thousand miles before installing anything aftermarket.

Going back in to talk with them tomorrow. If they can get the numbers where I want them to be, I'll probablly be getting the '06. If not, I guess wait until I can get eyes on the '07 and see if maybe that hood isn't as bad as person as it looks.
