$900K doesn't suprise me. Ppl forget that he's in GA.

Also, why on God's earth would you carpet your garage? However, I'm loving that long arched hallway.

The house overlooks the city of Dalton but the view goes on and on for miles! The property is bordered on the back by national forest so not much worry of neighbors building on top of you. My wife is a systems analyst and I work for GE on an assembly line so no I can't afford it. My buddy just wanted us to come by and check it out. What I can afford is more along these lines.

No kidding.

That house is a steal!

the original comment was that 900k was downpayment, not how much that house would cost.

and 900k for a house like that would be a steal, but that is way too cheap for something like that.

Yep 900K is the price on it. I was told that if someone would come up with 10K to pay down, the bank would accept 860K for it. It doesn't matter, I still can't afford it.

This area of Geogia is very rural. Dalton only has a population of about 30,000. The average wage is $34,000.

The nearest cities are Atlanta, Ga and Chattanooga, Tn . . . which are too far for a commute.

The primary industry is carpet manufacturing, which is in decline due to foreign competition. Most of the employment is in the carpet mills.

Hell yeah, that's just excessive. I want a regular sized house with a garage that's almost of equal size of the house.

Nice pics. Looking at the house and its surrounding, the house should be at least $2 million. It sits on the highest peak as far as the eye can see, and it covers a lot of area. It is a bargain to have that view, I wouldn't be surprised if someone bought it, renovate it and sell it for more money. I know my cousin does that as a realtor. Nice to have IT!

$900k seems like a steal for a house that big. I knew the original poster wasn't buying it because he's driving a Z... :^ P
