Why Z's & road curbs don't get along...
I did the same exact thing last night.. I accelerated to quickly from a stop making a left and drifted into a 180 causing the back passenger wheel to hit the concrete median.. Ouch is all i can say I hope his doesnt cost me over a grand to get fixed. Cold weather and summer tires = problems.
I will try to take some pics tomorrow when i get to the body shop I had it towed to.

Did you file a police report? I simply limped off the road and called a tow company and had the car flat bedded to a body shop within 30 min of all of it happening. My sister is an adjuster I'm thinking of getting a story together if they quote me over $1k. Something like a a dog ran out in front of me I clipped him and swerved into a curb? I dunno this is my 2nd spin out once it the rain I'm thinking of getting a new vehicle or a beater or something to keep me from killing myself.

Well, this past week I was "hot *******-it" with a buddy in the car. I pulled out of a parking lot pretty hard and floored it into second. I had checked to make sure that there were absolutely no cars and no cops around so I thought I was safe...well....I didn't think about how much of an effect the cold weather would have on my tires and their grip. Going into second the rear of my Z broke loose and started to fishtail severely. I tried correcting but after a couple of fishtails my front tires broke loose (even though I was only going about 35-40 mph). Now, I've been in a few fishtailing situations or power-slides and I'm pretty comfortable in those situations (especially when they're on purpose) but this took me by complete suprise. Realizing that I was not "in control" I applied my brakes only to discover my Z skipping from the left lane, into the right lane and at about 10 mph my passenger side rear wheel whipped into the curb.

Don't Lie!
Don't Involve Your Sister!

Grow Up!
Ouch. But I guess this happens with any car. Even when someone isn't "hotdogging" it. Got to get use to it like door dings. My old car ran into this problem with curbs often with almost same amount of damage.
Wow! Your damage is pretty popular lately. Must be the weather. Everyone needs to keep in mind that our tires (stock or anything respectable) are not all season tires. They are defined as summer tires. We all need to keep that in the back of our heads in questionable weather.
Yea I know I don't want to go the insurance route my mind is just wondering because i am in a tight situation right now, I don't want insurance points or to lie. I just need transportation ASAP. I totally am "grown up". Everyone is so skeptical here. Its all about lack of traction because no matter what summer tires are not sticky when its below 30 degrees outside.

Anyways, a guy at Discount Tire (where I got my Kuhmos) hooked me up today with a super sweet deal. He's giving me 4 Motiegi (sp?) wheels (18") that are on overstock at about 70% off and throwing in two free Kuhmos Ecstas ASXs so my tires will match all around. Not bad...I'll just look like a moderate retard with my Volks on the driver's side and the Moteigi's on the right. Oh well, its only for a month.
Oh, and for those of you busting on "bad driving"...it happens. Not all of us are of the skill level of Mario Andretti like you evidently are. I've done motorcross and am pretty darn comfortable behind the wheel of sports cars...but mistakes happen. Just gotta learn from them.
Oh, and I like my lights. I got them because they're going to go great with the paint scheme I have in mind down the road. Although, the JDM LED tail-lights are catching my eye.
My sympathy extended to those who have found themselves in similar situations...
Come on now. So many people on this forum act like they have NEVER done anything stupid in their Z. Maybe it didn't end badly, but it was still stupid.
I've done similar to the OP, but I didn't do nearly as much damage. Just banged up one wheel and put a slight dent in the exhaust from the curb. :/ Needless to say, I have not done that since.
