Default Soon to be 05 or 06 owner but need help.

Hey guys and thanks for taking your time to view this. Well I made a post about 2-3 months ago stating I would be getting either a evo/sti/350z , Well im proud to finally announce im getting the zed

All in all I had a couple questions regarding the types of Z. I know theres like the Base model, Track, Enthusiasts, and the Grand Touring... now I was looking into a 2005 Yellow Enthiusiasts with about 18k miles on it. It has the leather trim interior and im assuming the TCS and what else though? Does it come with the VDC as well? Besides that is there anything else I should know about it... heres the link to the car that im hoping to purchase this coming weekend... http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...g=1&cardist=75

So its either the Yellow 2005 Enthusiast w/ 18k miles or a Red 2006 Base w/ 5k miles... I know the base is base and theres nothing much to it but the motor alone. Its a hard decision but im leaning towards the 05 simply because of the fact that it does have the slight bit more extra features & leather interior but with a bit more mileage... blah im just really picky when it comes to this and I dont know if I should jump on that low mileage one.

so whats the main difference between the two? Thanks for the help and time guys, MERRY XMAS and I will be a Z owner very soon!_!

I thought the yellow only came in the 35th Anniversary edition. Anyways, if it's really an enthusiast, it'll have the Limited Slip. But you said it had leather and only the touring and grand touring have the leather right? i'm pretty new to this myself. I like the yellow though. Good color that not too many people have.

good luck!

In either case get an 06 - the revups are great.

If your going to mod, get a base. You'll be okay without an LSD unless your going F/I - but even in that case you will need a heavier clutch and LSD. So the Base is a win/win.

If you will be doing light mods, or no modding, get an enthusiast.

Actually in 05, yellow was an option. When I bought my 05 Black 350Z, the dealership I bought it from did not have the black one there so they put me in a yellow 05 base model until my black one arrived 4 days later.

As for your choice it will really depend on what you are wanting. Personally here's my breakdown of your two choices:

2005 Enthusiast Model
Highs: Better engine (I love the 287hp/276tq motor, i love the higher torque), VLSD, Xenon HID's, and aluminum pedals! Cheaper!

Lows: I'm not a big fan of the color, car also has a bit more miles but not by much.

2006 Base Model
Highs: Lower miles, Rev up motor if you like the higher HP, extra year on warranty?, slightly better stock wheels.

Lows: Not a big fan of Red color either, bit more expensive

Good luck!

F/I means Force Induction (Turbocharged, Supercharged)...and yes the VLSD makes a ton of difference! My 2005 Base model 350z was traded in for a 2004.5 Infiniti G35 with VLSD and it makes a world of difference when breaking the tires loose.
