Boomers in Z's

Another boomer of '55 vintage here. Finally bought an 06 ZR but have been a fan since a friend bought a brand new '73 240. Sold my Cobra a year or so ago and was looking for a decent 240, 260 o 280 to restore. Finally realized I no longer had the patience for a long term restoration and didn't want to pay for a completed restoration. Bought the 06 and aside from a few irritations (like the awful clutch) it's been one of the more fun cars I've owned. Still wish I had my 340 'Cuda though...

Boomer her too I am 58. Gotcha, Handle is Boomer also. I was given this handle by my parents 58 yrs. ago.
Anywho Never really cared for the early Z's was a muscle car guy. I had a 63 Tempest Le Mans with a 3 speed manual with a 326 cu.. The 65 GTO 389 cu. with manual and three two's, an 69 GTO automatic.
My 06 Grand Touring is my first sports car and I love it!
Only problem now is that it's wrecked and not sure of the outcome.
I ordered the G first and saw a Grand Tourer and changed my mind. The Z has much more curb appeal I think for a weekend driver.

I had a Road Runner in 1969 (335 hp) and many other cars since then including an Alfa Romeo (worst car I had) a Datsun 280Z, a few Mazda's (RX-7's, MX 6 GT) and a couple of Acura's (Integra, RSX Type S). The 350Z is my favorite so far but I wish I still had a few of my old cars (but not the Alfa Romeo).
I too had a '73 Barracuda with a 340 ci V8 and had plenty of great memories in that car. Had an '82 RX-7 for 8 years until my son was born. But I have to say that the Z really stands alone and is a blast to drive. I get a rush driving it each day.
The second Z came a few years later. It was purchased real cheap, but it also needed a ton of body work. It became my (every) weekend project. After a year, the car was finally ready to be painted. This shot shows that the original color Nissan was GREEN.
My wife is posing with my orbital sander when I managed to take a break. I've got to dig up some better project pics that show this car completely gutted.
(They're around here somewhere.)

I'm 62. My first car was a 49 Ford V8 Flathead with TriPower. (Three carbs). Spent more time working on the car than driving it. Then while in the Army I bought a 53 Studebaker. Car had a flat head six with an electric overdrive. The engine died a few months later so I put a small V8 in the car. Liked it so much I put a big V8 (365 Golden Hawk) in that little tiny car. Had to change the entire running gear. Tranny, rear axel, brakes. The engine was just too much power for the old 6 cyl drive train. The electric overdrive was cool. I mounted a toggle switch on a floor shift and used the thing like a six speed. Had a blast with that car. Went to sports cars after that with occasional American Iron as transportation. Had the days with van / station wagon but tried to always have a fun car to drive. Drove a 70 240Z but ended up with a 69 Datsun 2000. I remember racing my buddy that had a Porsche. My tiny 2000 kicked his bum but good. Have had Porsche 924 and 944 over the last few years. Also fun but not fast.
My 03 350Z is lots of fun. More power than other sports cars. I wanted one since the day I read about the 350Z in a car mag. Finally had enough of an excuse to spend the bux when my P car went over 200K miles and I needed reliable transportation.
I like to keep my car in really good shape. Always garaged and it's covered when I go to work.
