Default Turbo model?

A friend just told me that they are supposed to have turbo model pushing 350-370hp as an '04 model. Is this true? If so, I guess I'll have to sell my '03 to get one.

Your friend is not a reliable source. Even if there was a turbo model coming, I would guess 2005 at the earliest, most likely 2006. Most auto makers do at minimum a 3 year product cycle for major updates. It would anger a lot of first year buyers if they did this the year after release, including myself.

All that said, I doubt we will ever see a turbo model on the 350z. What we WILL see is Nismo releasing a warrantied turbo kit through Nissan dealers and installed at dealers. That is MY guess, we will know in a few weeks I am guessing.

If you'll remember, that's when the 300ZX went away. A factory turbo set up would throw the Z right out of the target market that Nissan is aiming for. Now, a FI of some type from NISMO is supposedly in the works, but who knows when that's actually going to be avaliable.

Tell your friend he needs to check his sources reliability. There have been more rumors about this car, than I've heard about several other cars put together. Not that I mind that kind of attention to our sweet little rides.
