Porche/Nissan Relationship
I have to agree that at "certain" angles, there's some resemblance. That angle for me is the rear haunches from a front 3/4 view. This is the angle where the rear end drops sharply like a Porsche with phat rims. Just this morning sitting at Starbucks, a Porsche caught my eye in the parking lot. But as it turned out, it was my own Z!

The only connection is that Porsche makes a great sports car. Nissan is simply using it as a benchmark to make sure their car is competitive against the top performers.
Still not as nice as a waterpumper front engine porsche

I should of kept my 928 was the best car i ever had, comes with coilovers from the factory and passive rear steering. A few dead cows worth of leather. Tranny mounted in the rear for great weight distrobution.
The boxster S wil outpreform a 911 its a stiffer car, it has less hp so it wont compete with the 911, same as the cayman since its the new boxster.

I guess it's a matter of opinion... but for god sakes it's not like someone is trying to say a mustang GT resembles a ferrari... or that the Z looks like a turd basket on wheels....
It's a fine compliment. Get over it!

Many manufactures use other products as a bench mark for their design. Those benchmarks can include braking, engine performance, fit & finish, as well as looks (the list can go on and on).
Many here know the Boxster was selected as one of the cars to provide benchmarks for the 350Z. From a historical perspective, the 240Z was considered at the time of being a cheap alternative to the Corvette (as well as other more expensive cars).
The 911 TT is also a benchmark of performance for the GT-R. Nissan, like other Japanese manufactures make a practice of benchmarking more expensive cars and producing something cheaper (& sometimes better or more reliable). This is where the relationship comes in between Porsche & Nissan.
In some respects, it is a big compliment for a manufacture to use another's model as a benchmark.

yeah, the first thing that came to my mind after watching the 911 following the GT-R was that they were using it for comparison and testing against, to make sujre that the GT-R is good as if not better.
