Default Switching Sides???

I currently have an LT1 Trans Am and I'm thinking about trading for a Z, problem is I'm skeptical about loosing my Torque. The T/A is a real Kick in the Pants type ride and that's what I love but I really like the Z's styling and the old LT 1 is getting tired. What made you guys go for a Z???

What made me buy a Z? My sports car upbringing.

Most people I have met in real life "buy" a Z because mommy and daddy were willing....

I used to be muscle car guy, drove a '90 Mustang GT for a while. Buy a 350z, you won't regret it.

If you go with the Z but find youu need more torque then just add a supercharger a la Vortex / Rotrex / HKS et al. The you will have the best of both worlds!!!

the Z is all about the overall package...performance, looks, practicality(if you can use that term with a 2 seater).

it just does it all so well, and compromises where it needs to. with the Z, what you see is what you get. Test drive it.

i was once a fan of the f-bodies ('94 turbo z28) but nothing quite feels like the Z and being on my 3rd one i don't see buying anything in the immediate future!

I'm on my second Z.
I love the car it's got everything: styling, performance, roomy for a 2 seater, and plenty of aftermarket support.

I agree. you should take a test drive first, and go on from there.

i had a modded mustang gt until about a month ago and i dont regret it at all. once you get the z you'll realize there's a lot more fun to a car than striaght line. i beat lots of lt1 t/a's and camaro's in my mustang so the jump may have been bigger for me than it would be for you but trust me, the z is a superior car, and as far as imports go, the vq has a very torquey motor

If you like muscle cars & you're strictly a "straight line" driver, the T/A is for you. If you like the looks of the Z, try test driving one and you'll be more impressed with its handling & overall performance. The stock Z has plenty of torque but if you want more, you can mod it to gain additional torque. Go to a local auto-x or track (road course) and you'll see plenty of imports, to include the Z but hardly, if any, T/As (but you may see them on a drag strip). The Z & T/A are totally different in performance and one is not necessarily better than the other -- it all depends on what you're looking for.

very true, i figured it would be easier to buy a z than turn my mustang into a corner carver. i was gonna put coilovers all the way around, plus swaybars, rear panhard bar, and strut tower brace and shock tower brace. but then i realized that my seats are reeeaaaally unsuportive so i'd need to buy new seats too, then i would have to upgrade the brakes cuz the stock ones aren't very good.

and now im here on the z forum so you can probably guess what i ended up doing instead. the z isnt a drag car. it doesnt respond to bolt ons well enough to make it worth it. if you go f/i then it could be a good drag car but for the money, you could have a waaaaaay faster trans am or mustang. however, if your into the twisties then ditch the t/a today for the z

too many reasons to get one! Anywhere from the great cornering... to the feeling you get just getting inside.. to swinging the back end around getting on the freeway.. cant complain!

my first car was a 94 z28, then i got a 93 T/A (both of which my parents got me). i just bought my 350z a few weeks ago, im paying for it on my own, and i love this car. its got plenty of torque to still rule most of the road, except for the evos and the like with AWD. the Z can still out pull them just not from a stand still. the biggest difference for me is the cornering difference, im still gettin used to it but id say go take a test drive. i did and i bought it the same day lol

Same here but started with a camaro. I grew up around my father restoring/racing muscle cars 1/4mile as a kid. A whole new world opens up with the Z. For awhile I gave my father a hard time because I can race him straight AND still take a corner at 80 blowing past him . Then he went and bought his first foreign car, a 2006 awd sti. Now we have fun together on straight aways and curves

ive had a 69 mustang, 91 iroc camaro, infiniti g20 fwd, and now an 03 Z, and i love it, i put on the stillen hood because it reminded me so much of my 69 mustang, and i love. every time i drive its like im driving it for the first time. people are always checking out my ride, makes me feel like im driving something different, and she handles and takes off just as good, when i get bored im going turbo or super charger, then she will be a new beast again.
