Test drive [Back to back] a 350Z coupe and a G35 coupe. I've had both and both are very fast, even with a 5AT. I prefer the Z, unless you really need a small back seat.
I fly past 6MT cars all of the time.

The Z is an awesome car, no matter which transmission you get. The difference in speed between the two is minimal. Get the AT Z and ROCK IT!!!

buy an audi with dsg....it's great if u MUST buy an auto!
As said in the post above:
Why don't you look at the Audis or VWs with their DSG transmission? Perhaps you might like the new TT or VW GTi??
That transmission, as far as "non-conventional" manuals go, is stellar. I've driven my friend's GTi with it, and it really is the most like a manual out of the ones out there. It's no Ferrari F1 paddle shift, obviously. But it really does replicate the shifts of a manual extremely well and in full auto mode is very drivable.
Good luck with whatever you find.
I've also heard the new auto i the G is supposed to be evry good as well.

The 5AT Z is fun as hell and nothing to worry about. I love it, don't let others put you down for it. Look at it this way, if you got a beautiful girl next to you, instead of shifting you can be holding her hand. =)
