Porsches are nice and are way out of our Z's league in all catagories....However they are not the best looking cars imho....I work around Manhattan Motors in NYC and I see Gallardos, Murci's, Saleen S7, Lotus, Aston Martins, F430's etc and the funny thing is whenever any of those cars are around any Porsche the Porsche disappears...it looks so plain and ordinary next to those kind of cars.....I love Porsches and dont mind the shape personally but I dont thing they are beutiful cars.

The Porsche is Black.
I agree with most of you, Porsche is great, but nit what I would spend my 150,000 on. Ferrari all day.

Is it becuase the brand name makes you think you are better?

Dont get me wrong the car is freaking awesome but so is a 350z.

seriously what makes it better?
Sorry man, but I doubt people are gonna state the obvious.

I'd take a GT3 over a Z 4 times over.

Those things are beautiful and perform almost as great as the 911 turbo

Get the GT3; its a no-brainer

Haha so you think that just because it's a porsche it's almost 100k more expensive? The only thing the Z has over the GT3 or the 997 is looks (IMO)

911 should not even be in the same sentence as the Z.

Porsche 911 is all about engineering and technological innovation. Their interior/exterior fit and finish is amazing as well. The GT3 is made for one reason, the TRACK. The Z is a parts bin sports car for the average joe. Here are a few specs on the GT3.

Engine Cylinders 6
Displacement 3.6 liters
Engine layout Rear-mounted
Horsepower 415 hp
Torque 300 lb.-ft.
@ rpm 5,500 rpm
Compression ratio 12.0 : 1
Manual
Performance Top Track Speed 193 mph
0-60 mph 4.1 s
MSRP $ 106,000.00

You're definitely paying for the Porsche name though. I'd like to think that for 106K that I could buy a Z and make it perform AT LEAST as good as a Porsche. Hell, I could probably come close for half the price. So what are you paying for? The name and the status of owning a Porsche...

Your Z wouldn't be as reliable but I agree with you.

My friends dad actually just purchased a new GT3. They ordered it and its supposed to be here any day now. His dad already has a Carrera 4S, Cayenne S, and they also specially ordered a yellow Cayman S to use on the track. I think they sold the Cayman & r gonna use the GT3 for the track. And my favorite part about the Cayman was that he would never race me and everytime I would have my Z out he would put the Cayman up. Oh well, I cant wait to ride in the GT3!

Why doesn't this GT3 have a roll cage in it yet? The GT3 has very comfortable seats, clutch is very heavy though and steering is very quick at high speed so its no grand touring car like the Z is. Trust me the GT3 is an amazing car, even if your not a fan of the 996, drive a 996-GT3 and you will wet yourself, its that amazing. I havn't been in a 997 yet but soon enough i suppose.
