Auto-down windows cannot cause physical injury, auto-up can. If they can avoid even one million$ lawsuit and bad publicity, you bet they will want to.

True. Didn't think of that.

Doesn't our windows have some feature, that if something got caught in it, while going up, it would roll back down, or maybe I'm think of something else? I thought I saw that in the manual, but I don't remember.

For the guy above who says his does not work: have you held the button down for several seconds? It takes awhile for the windows to start rolling.
Absolutely, went right outside and stood right next to the car held it for maybe 20 seconds, a few trys, and nothing Damn!

Just out of curiosity, try rolling your windows down from the inside... then see if you can get them to go back up by interting your key into the driver's side keyhole and holding it in the lock position.

Seems that those who want the auto up mode, realize that it may be too late by the time you realize that they are down. I had an 06 Mustang GT, I thought it came w/ the auto down, did not, Ford discontinued it after 05, I read after they had some unattended down issues, 'nother words windows were going down without using the remote. I personally like the auto down mode, not sure of the range of the remote, but I know it can't be much more than a couple hundred feet.

The key does in fact roll up the windows maybe just a faulty relay... we'll see, going to the dealer today after work.

Try going pressing the unlock button twice and holding it on the second press. So the sequence would be press, release, press, hold then see what happens.

This kid KayfuNk is the most clumsy/unlucky Z driver ever. Everytime he creates a thread, it's because he's f'd something up.

All I know is the range on my remote is trash, 15-20 feet away is the most I can be to get the windows to go down, or lock the car. It's weird because my bro has an 02 Maxima with the same looking key remote and his range is like 150 feet (slight exageration, maybe not though)

There's a very simple fix for this. Don't sit on the keys.

There's two way you can get them to go automatically down. Put your key in the Driver side door and turn to the right and hold (windows will go down). Turn to the left and the windows will go up.

Getting them to go down with the remote you have to hold and keep holding until you see the windows start to go down. All 350Zs have this option.

Nice to have on a hot day. Another tip (NO BS) if you hold the remote up to your chin you get about 30% more range. Your head basically acts as an antenna.

I've been close to 70+ yards away and was still able to use the remote. I couldn't hear the horn chirp because I was so far away, but I could clearly see the turn signals flash.

Crazy but true - I've done that too.
