Angry Help!!@# Car Keys stolen, how much to get rekeyed

Ok so last night someone broke into my house and stole everything, including my spare keys to the car, does anyone have a idea how much it will cost to rekey the car and have the FOB reset to the car? Thanks

Had that happen to me 2 years ago, sorry to hear mang.

You're looking at least $500 - 700 from the stealership jus for the lock alone plus FOB, program key to car. etc. etc.

Buy the Fob and key off of ebay. Just make sure you get the right ones. I bought an uncut/unprogrammed key from ebay for 20 bucks shipped.

Key fobs need to be programmed. Also, you can't buy just any key. They have to have the security chip in them to start the car. Ebay does not offer the solution.

Yeah they do... I bought an authentic uncut transponder nissan key off of ebay

And as far as programming the fob, I did that myself. Not hard at all.

If that is true please enlighten us with more detail information because that'll save a lot of people $$$ and trouble.

The key was cut and programmed by a nissan/infiniti dealer. But the Fob is very simple to program. I don't have the instructions anymore, but if you search for it it should be around here somewhere.

Sorry about the burglary. Of course you have contacted the company that covers your home. What do they advise?

...from a website online

programing a Nissan remote , is hidden secret by Nissan Dealers. As a Nissan Technician i will share it.

Just get in your vech , close all doors. Using your power lock switch , lock all doors. After doors are locked take your Ignition Key and insert it and remove it from ignition switch in a slow fashion , but consitant pace. (97 and earlyer are fast) When you see the hazzard lights flash, put key in ignition switch and turn to the On postion .. Do NOT CRANK or you will have to Start over .. After in the On postion .. Hit the Lock button on remote... Hazzard lights should flash..( note..you have to reprogram all remotes when adding a new one , if you don't your old remotes will not work ) If your doing just the one , turn igntion switch off and unlock door and get out and try it. If you are doing more than one. While still in Vech with Key on . After you hit the Lock button on Remote and hazzard light flashed .. with key still on .. use master lock switch unlock doors and relock and then hit Second Remote, Lights should flash again , repeat if adding a 3rd remote.. after done just turn key off and unlock door and get out and try. Good Luck

Sorry for your loss.

At least your insurance will cover the cost.

You have insurance don't you, that should be covered? Not your auto insurance, at least not yet. I would say your homeowners insurance will pay to have that taken care of since they took the keys.
