I would not worry about the color of the car. It seems that you get a new car every 3 years, so in 2010 you can get the black. if you do not like the blue.

BTW, never leave home! You have a good deal going!

This is just a general statement regarding young kids funding their own brand new expensive cars. Many kids your age defend yourselves by saying, "Oh but I am paying for it myself." That's great and all but having a car such as a Z at such a young age is still considered a luxury for the privileged. Many young people think that just because their minimum wage paychecks are going into their cars it makes them so responsible and worthy of a nice car. What many don’t put into consideration is the fact that without a real skill, education, career, paycheck, and mommy and daddy's help how are you affording your nice Z along with the insurance, rent, food, bills, and all the necessities of life? Be glad for what you got no matter what make, model, and color it is. You are truly blessed for even having a car. Not too many people can say I've owned 2 Zs. There are people out there riding buses everyday and college students still bumming rides from people. The Z is not an expensive car for a working adult. It is however for teenagers if you don't have some sort of support. That is the main reason people stereotype and look down at your kind for posting these threads.

Yeah, right after I had the splashguards put on.

I recommend getting the spoiler and splashguards. It helps the hump to blend a little better.

Like I said, the blue color rocks. But I also want to provide some brief comments on FairLadyZ33's quote above. Probably preaching, but FairLady said some important things.

I 100% agree. I come from a family of two Presbyterian minister parents. If you know anything about the clergy life, money is not exactly pouring in. I saved for quite a while to purchase my first Z....an orange 1977 280Z back in 1984 (17 then, 39 yo now). I put the money down, I made the payments, the insurance, fuel, all those things while still living at home. It wasnt easy. But also thought my s$%t didnt stink as a young adult. I then moved on to a 1985 300ZX @ 19 yo...again, put my own money down, insurance, fuel, etc etc etc. Again, it wasnt easy. I got kicked out of the house to be on my own and had to give it up and move to a used VW Golf since I now was living on my own, paying all the bills, car payment, fuel, etc. I didnt go to college until 20 yo...did it at night, after work, for six years. But I believed my education and career would get me to a level where affording a new Z someday would be achievable, a matter of pride, not breaking the bank, and that I did it MYSELF. Here I am, 20 years later, with now owning my second Z (a red ZR) and a '93 Honda Prelude as my running car. I did all this through hard work, late nights at the job, compromising some other wants to eventually meet this goal.

My point to all this is be careful with that car...it is a beautiful vehicle; congratulations. But dont cop some attitude about you "being da man". Dont rub it in others faces. For many of us, it took quite a bit to reach this plateau of saving hard dollars over a long period of time. For others, they will never have the opportunity to even come close to a Z. I am very proud of myself for that, and have the utmost respect for those who have done the same thing. If you crash it, get a DUI, kill someone because you were racing or doing something else out of control with it, then the car got the best of you. FairLadyZ33 is right on...be grateful for what you have, be a more humble person for that dude. If you dont understand this now, hopefully life experience will later. I dont have a rich family....and I dont take anything for granted in my life, especially my ZR. Dont take your new Z for granted either. It is a privilege for most of us to be part of "the club".

My two cents.

MmM that is true, very true indeed. But this hardly justifies Age stereotypes, I am undeniably privileged and I am grateful that I have such a nice car to the fullest extent possible. But since I was freely given option of changing it, why should I think of doing so? Why can’t I, the primary ,be able to choose the color of my own car? Why can I not ask others for their opinions? Have I done so wrong to do so? I apologize to those who have wasted there time here due to my irritating, irrelevant, and trivial thread I have started. Most of you have been very helpful to my decision and I thank you for all of your input. I would also like to thank all of those who have stereotyped me by referring to my father as my “daddy” and all of the other very helpful comments that have so profoundly facilitated me in my decision. I have learned something about this forum, and In the future, if i choose to do so, (if that is ok with some of you) should think more deeply about what I should post here. And remember how helpful some of you really are.

EDIT- I never meant to rub my privilege in anyone’s face, I was trying to be the most humble and respectful as possible I apologize again for my unintended actions. I understand most this forum and quite frankly most of the general public is not as privileged as I have been, I can perfectly understand how hard it must have been for some of you to get to the point of owning your very own Z's, but please try not to take it out on me. I have deserve as much respect as anyone here, I have made great strides in my own self development, I have even stared my own home business in the health and wellness industry ( one of the largest growing trend markets, due to the baby boomers), this car is more or less a company car and a partial tax write off. This all being at the age of 18, and still attending school that I pay for also. So please do not treat me as if I am some kind of spoiled brat, I have worked hard to get to where I am now. I'm sorry if my father has noticed my achievements and decide to reward me for what I have done thus far. I hate to say it but some of you are 3x my age and only 1/3 as mature. Thank you
