Unhappy Sad day... hole in rear bumper at Starbucks.

I went to Starbucks this morning and saw a Hiland Diary truck parked sideways in front of the store. It was tough getting in because the parking lot was so small. Drive-thru was full, and I didn't want to wait right in front of the truck (not knowing when he had to leave).

So I managed to find a parking spot, grabbed my frap, and back to my car. I realized I was stuck from the truck being in the way as I was backing out. So I tried to inch back and forth barely getting the car to turn. Then bam! WTH? From the mirror it looked like I was about 1ft. away. I managed to pull out and heard a scraping sound.

I went to check and found a nasty hole on the side corner of my rear bumper.

Dealership quote is $750 for a newly painted and installed bumper. If anyone has a CS rear bumper for an '03 model, please let me know!

that's another reason for you to get an aftermarket bumper.

LOL... yea this is one expensive Frap :-(

I'm not too crazy about body kits since I don't plan on dumping additional $$ on this car. I'm trying to preserve its resale value.

I need to look at the wound again to see how far below it is from my turn signal. Would it be weird to cover it up with a rear Greddy Gracer part? I already have the side skirts.

I don't plan on keeping this car long either, so I'm not sure what to do. (BTW, the side emblem is still there... I PS this picture a long time ago, but forgot about it).

[EDIT] This is the current look.

Patience is a virtue.

Okay, I'm pretty sure I can get a brand new bumper for about $330 after shipping. I'm not sure how much it'll cost to have it painted and installed. I called the body shop that did my sides and spoiler ($550 at the time), but the lady refused to give me a quote unless I brought the bumper to her for an estimate. So I still don't have a clue how much I'll save compared to $750 at the dealership.

Man... I haven't caught up with body kits. I don't wanna blow more than $750 to get something that's mismatched. The Greddy is just an add-on for the rear bumper, so it will cover up the hole. I don't like the lip, so I might have to get some sort of CF lip. Bah... I don't think this will help maintain resale value.

Unhappy All I wanted was a Caramel Frap...

I just got back from the dealership body shop, and they quoted about $850 for parts and labor. I can afford it, but I'm not ready to blow all that $$ yet. It's tough driving around with a hole on the side... so shameful.

Dealership quoted the bumper at $351 after taxes. West Covina tried to help, but the shipping rates were too high for the bumper.

I'm going to drop by an outside body shop (They did the sides and spoiler for $550) next week to see how much I can save.

Sorry about your Z, i understand your pain. mine cost about 4000k; however, insurance took care of it.

So our bumpers are more "plastic" than urethane? Look how it breaks and punctures so easily. [sigh] I gotta suck it up and dump more $$.
