Z32 FAIRLADY-
Good stuff, thanks! Yup, I am CONSTANTLY trying to wipe brake dust off my friggin rims at gas stations or anywhere for that matter, it is that bad...I find myself slow braking rather than trying to normal brake just because of the brake dust! During NORMAL ECT mode, the brakes are nice, however, during POWER ECT mode, and doing hard brake, forget it, you'll feel the hard stops. Can't really say much about the suspension as I dropped it about an inch with Eibach, so I totally have forgotten how it felt before, though I will say the ride is a lot more comfortable dropped in this car than it has been in my rides before this one.

Well, gonna go off to the Nissan dealership in a little bit....funny thing is I got an e-mail this morning from the guys in Cali about the supercharger inquiry....the Car Gods have no mercy.....

i hate to say it but keepur is350 its a wonderfull car. I bet you had zero problems with it or very small stupid things lexus warranty is killer. I think it would be stupid. I mean i liek the look and performance of the z way better and i own a touring 03 db. I love my car but it makes alot of funny little noises and its in the dealer right now gettin a trannie replaced kinda frustrating spending almost 40k on a top of hte line car and havnt to go in for a trannie swap at 55000 miles. Ur is350 prolly wil have almost no problems. I also almost traded my car for a 07 but i refuse to give up my 350z for the bull**** 17000 they wanted to give me on the trade

and i herd someway say is350 has squeaky brakes my z brakes with oem rotors and oem pads squeek like u cant beilive all though they say aftermarket pads stop the sqeal

Don't get an auto just because of your girlfriend won't learn to drive stick. MY GF tried to pull the same crap on me and I was like, well, it looks like your going to have to learn to drive a stick. SOmebody need to get there pants back.

As for the Highway driving, put it in 6th and roll, no pumping the clutch on highway commutes. The Z just ain't the same in an auto. You claim to want the 'sports car' feel, well you certainly won't get that with an auto. Buck up and tell your lady its time to learn. Its a good skill to have and its not hard at all, the Z will practically take off with no gas on a flat surface.

Get some ceramic break pads, much less to no dust!

^^^But for a brand new car of that calibre to produce an issue like that I find it unecessary for the consumer to put money out of pocket to fix the issue. Lexus is aware of the issue and several cars come in daily with that complaint not only IS's I believe they issued a TSB fix for the GS's awaiting one for the IS's.

Didn't have that with the '04, but the pads were switched out with STILLEN virtually no charge.

I've always loved the Z, and with this new 07 model, it just seems like the right time. It really is either get the Z or pop in a $5500 supercharger running on 5PSI for the IS350....problem is, I go to the Nissan dealer tomorrow, and I just might be too weak to say no.

I always get accolades for my slightly modified IS350...but in the end, it's a sports sedan compared to a sports car...
If I were u I would wait until Aug. when the 3.7 is out. Seriously I feel sooo bad for all the HR buyers. There motor will become obselete after 6 months on the market and will have very little aftermarket support.

Wait until you see the faces of all these HR buyers once the G37 comes out.

So, basically, there is a very good possibility, aftermarket support for the 07 engine will be slim to none? One of the main reasons for the switch is all the available aftermarket items I can get on this car. But talking about aftermarket for an Infiniti and Nissan are two different things. If this engine still has a shelf life of 2 years, the support should be there...no?

There are significant differences between the 2 cars - both driving them and when going to the dealership. You're going to feel every bump and pebble in the Z, but that's part of the experience. The other part of the experience is at the dealership. Lexus is stellar. My wife owns an RX330 and my dad has the GS300 AWD. I've never experienced better customer service anywhere than at the Lexus dealership. They know how to treat their customers. Nissan dealerships, on the other hand, seem to range from crappy to ok. My personal experience at Nissan dealerships has been pretty good, but not stellar.

Definitely drive the Z. It's an awesome car. But so is the IS350.

Whats so different about Nissan and Infiniti? As I recall they are both the same thing. If you take a look at 95% of aftermarket parts for the Z...you will see they also fit the G35.

What I meant was, what's the difference in aftermarket parts between the G37 and the 07 Z? I'd assume it would be two totally different products at that point, wouldn't it?

Well, I got the Z! In fact, it's the white one of all colors (I went in thinking black only, but when I saw the White, just fell in love with it). BUT, ONE BIG QUESTION. When I was driving it home my girlfriend and I heard what seemed like a whistling noise from the passenger side of the car outside. Sort of like a whistle noise you'd hear if the car was slightly creaked open or something. She says it's coming from the rear, but I say from the front side. Not sure if it's from the brakes or if you guys have discussed this before, but does anyone know of this?

You should wait for the 08 Z with the bigger 3.7L putting close to 350hp. Enjoy the IS 350 for now.

lol, thanks, but too late, already got it, just worried about this whistling noise I hear when driving on the passenger side. not sure if this was the norm, brekaing in, or an issue?

Most here said a new model/engine for 08 was pure speculation?

No its for real. The 3.7L is based on the GTR engine and other Nissan V6s. No more 3.5L

Oh wells, cars are just like the next fad though, there will always be a newer model better than the one you bought. I wonder if Nissan has that 3 day after purchase return allowability heheh
