One thing that always makes me laugh is when you go to the Gym, and people are rolling around the parking lot, looking for that space right up front, only to go inside and walk on the treadmill for an hour. What are they thinking?

I always try to park by a curb so only one other car can park next to me. I don't park WAY out, because I don't want to run the risk of someone jacking with my car unnoticed. And I NEVER park next to a minivan or big *** SUV because more than likely it's a "soccer mom" (no offense intended here) and I've noticed they really don't pay attention when loading up the kids, etc. and usually hit the car next to them. But I don't turn around if I can't find my optimal spot.

The heats on...
I used to laugh at my dad when he used to fret over his vette...hey that rhymes...and park out in the boonies...Now I'm doing it and I'm happy to say it works quite well most of the time...but never ever double park...It's a major no no and although I wouldn't touch another's car...I'm in the minority...
I've found spots to park that have been so good that I don't want to take the car away from it's new home
it's like a major accomplishment...on one side is the curb, the other is a no parking spot...right near the door to the resturant and in eyesight of my table...
sad when the car is better company than some people for dinner eh?

I try to park my car where there are like 5 spots on either side of me in the back of a parking lot, but still when I come back to my car someone parks right next to me. I get so irritated cause there are so many spots on both sides. Are people just dumb or do they just have to park next to someone? I personally don't get it. Other people that irritate me are people who park so close to your car that you can't get back in.

yeah double parking is bad, makes people angry. I did it once, at my ex's apartment complex when there were like 30 spaces free, and some jack*** reported me to the office and they came down to put a sticker on my car saying it was going to be towed! The funny thing is it was some couple, probably in their early 20s. It was obvious because I saw them giving my car dirty looks. Apparently I took their "usual" spot. Amazes me how petty people can be.
I usually look for a spot that allows me to put some of the car in a neutral zone, so in a way I am using 1.5 spaces, but not taking a parking space away from anyone. Luckily the garage I park in at work allows me to do this every morning without drawing too much attention to myself AND without making anyone angry.
I park next to NICE cars, or cars that look likes the owner takes care of his vehicle. Best spots are next some sort of landscaping or some structure where no one can park on the passenger side. that way there is ALOT of room seperating you from the car next to you on the drivers side.

I try to park as far as possible.....but IF i have to park close, i will try to NOT park next to an SUVs or Vans. I will *try to park next to a nice car....and of course, hoping that car DON'T leave until i get back
Good luck out there guys!

I know this is an old post, just missed it before.
To all you Z Ladies out there, remember that parking far away from everyone else CAN put you in dangerous situations (esp. at night). I park as far away as possible from everyone else, or do like others, park by a curb or another nice/new car. BUT at night I park closer, try to park under a light pole, or where people can see me. I would hate to hear of a woman being abducted/raped/mugged because she parked her new Z away from other cars. ***Just a little reminder that there are too many freaks out there to put your life in jeopardy*** Z Girls RULE!!! Be polite, Speak softly and carry a 357!

Not only do I ALWAYS carry a knife (and know how to use it), I'm pretty nasty in a fight. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I'm liscenced to carry a concealed weapon. LOL
Few weeks ago at the horse races, I parked FAR away ... about 10+ empty spots on both sides.
Later that day, walking back to the car I notice a POS old car parked about 5" away from my driver side door. All the other spaces around were empty. I had to get in from the passenger side.
It's obvious it was done on purpose -- I can't imagine anyone being that much of a dolt.
Tho immature, I felt it necessary to remove my chewing gum and REALLY do a good job of plugging his driver side keyhole to make it equally as difficult for him to get in his car.
