Default 350z too hard to control?

every week theres a new thread on sumbody crashing there 350z. hell theres even threads about ppl not crashing (its just that special). y is it that were all tottaling our z's? ive driven mine in rain, light snow, everything, and never had a problem. y is it that the z seems 2 get trashed, crashed, bashed, and smashed more so than any other car?

how do you expect a car to control you when you cant control yourself.

It's very easy to lose the back end on the car, BUT I know when it's going to come out on me. It always has to do with the way im driving it. It doesnt just "happen", and even then, you never feel like you are losing control of the vehicle.

What kills me is the people who come on here and totally rip on the car while they were "turning while doing 20mph" and land on their roof.

haah exactly. it only slides out when provoked lol. and even so, during normal street driving i alway leave my tcs on, cuz i never drive aggressive enough on the street 2 need it off. maybe they need 2 sell the z and buy a taurus. i hear those r driver friendly.

I've always wished that the people who wrecked their cars gave more accurate/descriptive accounts of what happened.
But I guess it's possible that they don't know what happened themselves, which would explain why they wreck cars.

It has to do with replacing words with single letters and numbers.

I agree! BTW, i'm just curious how much time you save by typing the number "2" everytime vice "two", and "y" instead of "why"?? Just a pet peeve of mine.

People coming from driving much less powerful cars, F/F vs. F/R, many never driven a RWD car in their life, that's where we get the "I was going 20 mph and ended up on my roof..." stories. I think there does seem to be a pretty high rate of strange/bizarre/stupid crashes I see not just on this forum but elsewhere, too. Driving a front driver that weighs ~3000 lbs and has 150hp is a lot more forgiving.

Some inexperienced driver gets an Acura or an Audi, etc. with comparable power and it's going to have FWD or AWD. That's a BIG difference. My first car was a very used late 1960's vintage Chevy with a 327 and once you learn to drive cars like that in the rain, snow, etc. something like a Z is easy.

IMHO it's a bad choice to have a Z for your first or second car ever at 18-19 years old, driving a Z or any car with almost 300 hp at the crank, with <3 years experience in total driving seems to be another contributing factor.

It's not a hard car to control - one of the easiest to take out onto a track and drive hard pretty quickly, and it doesn't have the nasty habits of some other fast cars I've driven.

I agree that it is a matter of experience. My first car was a 1990 240sx when I was 20. While it doesn't have nearly the power of the Z (although a lot lighter), I think learning on that car (especially in the snowy winters in Rochester, NY) makes me think that the Z is very easy to drive.

I think SteveZ makes a good point. Most modern day drivers have little experience with rwd cars. Us older guys grew up on rwd autos and know how to handle them, particularly in rain and snow.

I dont think the Z gets crashed more than other cars. But if you are on a Z forum you will hear about a lot of Z accidents.

Go on any other car enthusiast site and I guarantee you will read just as many "my car is totalled" threads

And they run great, no problems, daily drivers all..
