Are you debating between a Base and an Enhusiast because of...(what?) Function often outweighs cosmetic appearance (and it SHOULD).
That being said, if you're going to modify your vehicle anyway, does it matter? Many Z's are morphed to such a degree, you can't identify it from its factory "appearance", regardless of trim.

wow, this has to be the dumbest n00b question yet. you can not visually tell the difference between the Z models since you can pretty much order what you want on the car from the dealer anyway.

Assuming no mods were made in the interim, the diff b/t a base and an enthusiast are:
1) Cross-drilled aluminum pedals on the Enthusiast
2) Steering wheel-mounted controls for cruise control/audio controls on the Enthusiast
But, really, honestly, you didn't have to come to this site for this info. All this is available at:
www.nissanusa.com
That's where I looked for about 11-12 months (memorizing the stats of each trim) before I bought my Z. They even have a dealer-locator function that can locate the exact Z you want (with the exact specs) within a reasonable radius of travel to your home.
You should really check it out...I mean...at some point in time...
