Looks typical to me. I've been thinking about getting a used Z over a new one here recently. But, I Really want a solar orange 07.

1) Not Likely, but anyting is possible
2) Not sure but I would imagine 19-21 MPG.
3) Premuim
4) No, but I did go from 2 stangs to Gs. 00 GT to 04 G and 06 to 07 G. Biggest difference is there is much low end torque in the stangs, but the VQs rev much higher and smother.
5) IDK
6) 07 will be a drivers race. All others not likely. Also keep in mind S197 are easy/cheap to mod. CAI and Tune picks up 20+ RWHP and RWTQ.
7) Probably, but that is all part of the charm.
8) Can't say, but I hear it is noticeable.
My 05 G35 6mt Sedan would beat Stang GTs that were stock or slightly modded like a exhaust. This is the newer ones and even the older ones. So I know a Z can beat them.

The VQ is already tuned to its peak, you won't get a ton of extra power out of it but there is a posibility you will get at least 20 hp from just all bolt ons. Anything more you will need to go FI.

His name is VEETEC. And they were stock. The 07 he ran at the track had a bad clutch too when he ran the 13.3.

Sorry, but I have to call BS here. Like I stated I have owned and 04 Sedan and currently an 07. My 04 was much slower than both my 00 and 06 Stangs. The 07 could match and possibly beat my 00 but would still lose to the 06. If you beat an 05+ Mustang GT (ie V8) in your 05 sedan the driver either wasn't racing or the sucked big time. On the other hand since people don't know the difference between a Shelby GT and a Shelby GT500 I would be surprised if you were racing a V6.

Like I said he is a hell of a driver. Great numbers. I am hoping to pick up an 07 in the future and if I could hit 13.5 I would be thrilled.

An 05+ GT Mustang against a [revup] Z would be, a driver's race. IIRC, the Stang GT's are 300HP and 240TQ.

I've run my 06 base Z against a friend's 06 GT Stang, (stock for stock) at the track, and we go back and forth all the time. He wins. I win. He wins. I win.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the newer Stangs are 300+ tq

I think the 07 Z could take a bone stock '05+ GT, but any year before the 07 would either be a driver's race or the GT would edge it out, methinks.

If your primary concern is gas mileage, why are you talking about performance and horsepower? Look at a 4-cylinder Toyota Camry. Great mileage. Great reliability.

Well If you look at the recent C&D test the 07 and Shelby were esentially tied in every Category (straight line). Keep in mind the shleby is essentially a GT with a CAI and cosmetic mods. I think 07 is a drivers race, 06 don't really know and 05 below goes to the s197.

Sorry but a 04 Sedan is slower than a 05 REV up 6mt with MREV, Stillen Intake, Stillen Exhaust there is a big difference. No BS. You can't call BS since you were not there on every race I had at the time.

Yep, but still slower than an 07 S. What year was the s197? Do you know the driver? Was this at the track or Street? Do you have the timeslip? What model s197, Base, GT, Shelby, Roush, Saleen.

I find it hard to believe that the 07 S especially with no 1/4 times performed really yet is faster than a 05 REV with these mods. On a dyno my 05 REV made more power in the powerband than the 07 S does stock. Plus the 05 Sedan is about 200lb lighter than the 07S is.

Again, it was several different model mustangs, and years. I have ran GT stangs at MSR and passed them in the straights. They are NOT all that fast. They have NO top end power.

I have a frined that had a 00 GT 5MT stang. He ran 14.3 at 99 mph at the track bone stock.

Gears and Intake he got it down to 13.8 at 101 mph. Even then its not that much faster than a stock G or Z.

I have no doubt you beat pre 05 stangs. What is your best 1/4 in your 05.

Never took the G to the actual Drag Strip. I only raced it at MotorSport Ranch or local Autox events. I really wasn't into drag racing.
