not really, e85 is a poor substitute for gasoline for regular automotive use, and is only beneficial to cars tuned to take advantage of the higher octane. Ethanol intrinsically has a lower heat capacity and thus horsepower and gas mileage will suffer considerably on most normal cars.

 

Just a quick point. E85 capable cars get approximately 15-30% fewer mpg's (depending on make and model) on E85 than when they're are run on regular gas. F that noise IMO.

As for the subj, there are several ethanol filling columns in Kiev. Producers and marketeers promote this fuel widly without saying anything about the risks. They say E85 equals A95+.

 

My Pop's has the Flex Fuel Ranger. Unfortunately, there is like three areas in California the sells the fuel. Our Area is over 150 miles away from the closest E-85 Fill station.

Question: Is it 10% or 15% ethenol mixed gas we can run? I thought it was 10% and no more. Oh now, I have to get the manual out. Maybe that was one of the other cars I own.

 

Some of my friends say that they noticed a better engine work. maybe it's all about advertising

 

Check your Fueling loactions before you descide to work on this as a conversion... here in New Orleans the closest location in 48 miles away at NASA (no ****)!!

It is possable to run E-85 on a Non-Bio Engine... basically everything Rubber has to be replaced with Aluminum or the same seals and hoses used on Alcohol Drag Cars... the parts can be found, and it can be done! Yes you will need to re-tune specifically for the Fuel.

Yes, this is really only a good idea if your around the midwest. We have a E85 pump at every gas station. We've been testing rubber seals with various grades of Ethanol and found you can run E85 for an extended period of time (varies with vehicle and rubber compound) with a tune.
