Mr. K 7/27/02 @ Corp Nissan
Aloha fellow Z car enthusiasts!!
I did not have much planned for the day, and my Z club Vice President recommended that I should come check out the 240SX national convention happening at Corporate Nissan today. (on account of the fact that we - Group Z - have the 2004 national Z car convention here in the L.A. Area).
I tried to fire up the yellow G-nose but it wasn't co-operating, so I ended up taking another Z down. As I got to corporate, I parked in the lower 40, and came up to see all the 240SX, Silvias, and Skylines that were there. There was a couple Z's and 510's. But best of all, there was a blue 350Z.

After a while, My Buddy, the man with the plan from Japan, Mr. Katayama hizzelf shows up. (surprise!!)

We got a couple pics, and then had the chance to shoot the show from the roof.

Last but DEFINITELY not least, I got to go around for a lap in this performance model 6 speed as the kind gentleman was on his way out the parking lot to go home and to the corporate pic-nic. Hey Boo Boo. Being club prez has a perk or two.

NICE CAR. I'm gonna see if my club newsletter press credentials can get me one to drive for a day for ummmmm, Club press testing. hmmmm.
Myself, having already cut a few 240's and 280's to make them convertibles, I'll wait for the factory convertible, sorry, just being a California native, I got that convertible thing.
Please, y'all start planning to come to L.A. in June of 2004 for the Greatest Z show on Earth!! (Third Rock from the sun.)
Many thanks to the Nissan Folks for everything, you know who you are, and we look foreward to working with you when the 350's actually hit the shores!!
I wonder whats up in L.A. tomorrow?
Cheers!

P.S. Not to over plug our club, but we do get pretty good discounts and benfits for our members, and we have only had two 350Z's showing up per meeting for the last two months. If you are in the So. Cal area, we would love to have ya visit, next meeting is Thursday 8/8/02 at Fuddruckers in Buena park. Please visit the website www.GroupZ.com for more details.
(Would ya believe we even had a club member said that the meetings were a little too chaotic - sheesh!)
I promise to have the full spectrum of colors at the monthly meeting as soon as there are enough cars in the country I can muster. lol

It was a nice event. I discovered where they park the 350Z's and Murano's. Charlie, do you know what color Z is going to be at the next meeting? Also, I sent my application about 2 weeks ago, any news? Thanks.

I made it to the event and stumbled upon the the 350Z. Made my day, and I actually got to sit in it. Feels just right, even for someone who is big and tall, like myself. Just could not believe that I got to sit in 'it'.
I think it's my right knee in the picture with the Coke in the cup holder. At least I hope it is, as I intend to use my short moment of knee fame to extract donations from my co-workers for the 'John Needs a Z' fund.
I'm now the only one I know who's seen one in the real world, away from an auto show.

The first picture that shows the seat doesn't show any levers to raise and lower the front and back of the seat. I believe the wheel tightens up the thigh bolsters. Still concerned that there is no height adjustment for the seat.
I wonder if anyone who has sat in the car has actually raised the seat.

That wheel is for raising and lowering the front of the seat only. You can't raise the back of the seat. I'd like to know why they decided not to make the whole seat raise though, especially because of the bathtub seating....
