No way, I drove, we just didn't go very far either night!
Girlie (and SpeedRacer - if you happen to see this),
I think we're all around the same height. How is the rear visibility for you? I didnt really pay much attention during my two test drives

haha, thanks yall! I had a wonderful bday
I'm getting better at driving the car, but honestly I hate having a stick, but guess I am stuck with it now. Sometimes I do great at it, and other times I kill it, just can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I say they should do away with first gear

I did have to move the seat as far up as it would go, but it's about like my Camaro was. I can see out the back great, but I can't see my front end so I really have to know the car. BTW, Jessie, don't fret about the standard, it just takes getting used to! Every car is different and even if you've had years of experience, there's still a learning process with each car. You'll be fine!

Yeah when I was test driving the touring, it seemed as though I was holding down the seat (forward) adjustment button for a loooong time. I'm thinking about sitting on pillows lol Ive gotta see the front end. Its already bad enough that I always pull down the steering column all the way so that I wont have to look THROUGH the top arch of the wheel. *argh* sometimes I hate being 5'3".
I am only 5 foot 2 too, and I can see out of it pretty good too. I guess I am so used to not being able to see the front end of the car that it doesn't bother my anymore
I just hate sitting so close to the steering wheel though.

Don't hate the stick - it's the only way to go ! I am so proud of you for going with MT when AT was an option and you hadn't driven MT before (and I am not being condescending - I genuinely mean that). Drive careful - for your cars sake as well as yours - and once you get used to it you will love it and never want an AT again. Happy B'Day
You are brave - I didn't get a MT b/c I didn't want to learn on it ... but I just learned to drive stick on my bro's 914 - and it was so much fun! Now I wish I had gotten a MT (but I don't want to trade my Brick in ... decisions decisions).
Anyway, congratulations! Happy belated B-day!
p.s. I am also 5'3" - seat is all the way up, steering wheel is ALL the way down, but visibility is fine in the back and I'm used to the front.

/high five woman!
WOOOOO!!! Happy birthday!
I couldn't drive stick either when I bought my manual Z in January. My boyfriend laughs at me now cuz I drive like a mad woman (with a big stupid grin) and I can't imagine going back to automatic.
You'll get it - I'm still working on making my shifting smoother.
